HER

There she sits,

All alone, broken and fragile.

A mere shell of the person she once was.

It’s her but she’s different.

Her eyes that once held a glimmer of mischief

Are now blank and bloodshot.

Her smile that once radiated with her inner warmth

Is now non-existent.

What powerful force could possibly kill

A person’s soul in the blinking of an eye?

She was thought to be the perfect child

With a perfect family,

But few knew what went on behind the

Walls of this seemingly tranquil home.

And those who knew, chose to pretend they didn’t.

But in the end it was too much for her.

She chose the path she thought would offer peace,

But it turned out to be no better.

Where she thought she would find happiness

She only found more grief and heartache.

What a waste of a life,

Her life.
