Here, I'll just give you the first paragraph. It's easier than trying to sum it up.

"Ever since mankind first invented Rock and Roll, although some say far before then even, it was inevitable that he would leave his home planet to spread across the depths of space. What wasn’t so easy to predict was the reason mankind did this."

The story will be submitted chapter by chapter.

Here's how it starts:

Ever since mankind first invented Rock and Roll, although some say far before then even, it was inevitable that he would leave his home planet to spread across the depths of space. What wasn’t so easy to predict was the reason mankind did this.

Before it happened, some popular theories had involved man’s spirit of adventure, wanderlust, or some sort of conquering spirit. Slightly less popular theories had to do with the destruction and decay of the Earth’s fragile ecosystems.

The real reason man had to leave his nest… that’s right folks, it wasn’t a choice… had to do with death. Well not so much the death really as much as what to do with the dead once they had passed. Mankind had this nasty little habit of burying their dead. Through the ages people just kept on dying and when they did, the living kept putting them in the ground, often with carved stone markers left to help remember those who were buried beneath. It was considered in poor taste to move those long dead or to dispose of them altogether so the newer and newer places to bury the dead were needed. This kind of thing went on and on until finally there was just no room left for people to live anymore. The planet, in essence, had become a giant cemetery.

This is my favorite bit from chapter two:

This whole business with truth stemming from rock and roll had, at times caused great unrest. One prime example of this would be the Party Wars. For ages mankind had celebrated all manner of occasions, birthdays, going aways, promotions, anniversaries, holidays and such with a social gathering known as parties. It came to pass that an ancient recording was uncovered by a band called the Beastie Boys in which the chorus so eloquently explained that, “you gotta fight for your right to party”. Read Chapter

Here's my favorite bit from chapter three:

To say that the place was massive was an understatement of epic proportions. Within its confines there were thirty seven hundred living rooms, eight thousand, two hundred and forty seven bathrooms, five thousand six hundred and forty two bedrooms and one thousand six hundred and fifteen kitchens. There were a number of sun rooms, moon rooms, planet rooms, and some rooms with seemingly no function at all. It housed a sports complex large enough to host major professional events and tournaments. The home had an indoor rain forest, and indoor desert, and indoor frozen tundra, and indoor, indoor wetland, an indoor sea roughly the size of the Mediterranean and a grassy savannah.

Here's my favorite bit from chapter four:

The kitchen was nearly spotless. When Elron had first gotten his rocket ship, even before having the corn motif painted on its exterior, he attempted to duplicate a recipe that he saw on a cooking show. This single attempt in the kitchen scarred him, psychologically, so severely that he hasn’t attempted to cook so much as a piece of toast since.

The dish he was preparing imploded. Now it hadn’t just folded in on itself, but in its core a very black hole-like vortex was formed. It sucked up utensils, spices, dish towels, aprons, appliances, and almost got Elron himself before he was rescued by Ben the robot.

There are permanent stains on the walls, floor and counters from that incident.
