Why do we write? How do we write? Where does it come from? Why is it important?

I feel like this sums up the reason to write... well... anything from the depths of your heart. As a musician and lyricist I can say that even though I stumbled across this explanation (something I wrote myself) by accident, it applies to basically everything I've ever written.

In writing about fear, we face it. In writing about wounds and pain, we heal them. In writing about doubt, we relinquish it. And in publishing it, we allow others - who may not have the gift or the means to write - to read or hear, and do the same.

Hope this makes some of you writers think. And perhaps encourages you to write something deeper. Writing that comes directly from the heart is writing which enraptures and captivates those who read it.
