Has anyone ever held you in high esteem?

Have you had your heart dragged over the rainbow?
Were you ever put on a pedestal too high,
And had your heart pushed from that lofty height?
Did you Tin Man ever fall this hard I wonder?
Or is it because I just have silver hair,
that I compare myself to you now?
I feel lonely and have to question why.
Day by day I feel life...love passing me by,
a month seems  like seconds.....yet forever.
Like you and your traveling companions,
I am tender, intelligent, and brave,
but no one ever seems to recognize
or look pass my disguise.
Time passes, memories fade, losing at love stays
and leaves me never.
I think you surely have to feel this way too.
As the craft floated away and Dorothy was gone,
are you like me and felt sorrow; despair?
I remember I once heard you say about your heart,
you know now one can be broken
as she vanished into thin air.
Could you and your friends ever found all you wanted,
had you never been willing to try?
Why did that wizard have to leave my side?
Did I miss my way home again besides,
good deed doers like us need our testimonials,
so we can finally realize....
There will always be old broken toys, sad little boys,
and a shining tramp made me wonder why,
there are lovers… such as you: such as I.
