The poem is about loneliness and how it can affect you

The candle burns upon the wick

As shadows fall silent all around,

The deathly silence is icily cold,

Like death come upon my door,

To say hello and nothing more

I creep as though in prowl

Like an ancient upon the land

I cannot know what lies within,

This frigid place of death gone by

In this friendless place of loneliness

I am but a flash in time of brighter days long forgot,

But not by all but foolish hearts of flightless souls

The souls that long forgot how to love with heart and soul

Just live in mind and soulless whim
