Rolling fields in bloom toward the horizon
Greens, reds, and yellows in rows
Separated only by earth and stone wall
Big beautiful sky painted with clouds
A face is looking up, eyes closed and smiling
Warm, alive, nostrils take in the perfume
Dust, flowers, tree bark and rain soon to come

Among the scattered fruit trees a cottage
Shade dancing across the walk
A breeze making leaves dance and laugh joyfully
Occasionally a black bird stops on a branch
Then flies off toward the sun and over the hills

No calendars, no clocks; only seasons
And sun to mark the passage of time
Each day flowing to the next
With measured pace of nature
No date can be set to this immortal scene

She walks through rolling fields in bloom toward the horizon
In between rows of greens, reds, and yellows
Her fingers gliding along pedals
Her face looking up, eyes closed and smiling
