  COLD OPEN.

INT. THE SHOP - EVENING

We enter the shop. Appears quiet, still. The Shop Keeper is nowhere in sight.

There's a noise in the background.

We pan to our left. We pull back a curtain and reveal: the SHOP KEEPER, trying on a sunglasses. He's caught off guard.

SHOP KEEPER

(STARTLED) Oh hello. (BEAT) This? It's just something I'm trying. Not everything is as it seems ya know. Often the things we miss are right in front of us. Almost as if invisible. Reminds me of a story about one lovely couple who were blind to the present.

ext. establishing shot - house - night

A dark and stormy evening.

The wind crashing through the tree's.

A single home in the suburbs of some sort. The porch light highlighting the barely seen objects below it.

A loud scream is heard off screen.

CUT TO:

INT. LIVING-ROOM - NIGHT

A television reflection in the background over shadows the room.

Two people; ANNIE and DANIEL, sit cuddled up, popcorn resting on Daniel's lap.

annie

You just had to pick this movie didn't you.

daniel

I know it's your favorite.

ANNIE

Uh-huh. Or could it be because you know it gets me in the mood.

DANIEL

Well, I'd be lying if I didn't say that wasn't one of the perks.

Annie slyly makes her way to Daniel's neck.

ANNIE

Looks like it's working.

Annie and Daniel start to kiss. Daniel pulls back.

DANIEL

Wait. There's plenty of time for that later.

Daniel gets up and turns around.

DANIEL

Now don't you go anywhere.

ANNIE

Hey!

Daniel turns around.

ANNIE

I love you.

DANIEL

I love you too.

Daniel leaves the room. Annie gets comfortable on the couch.

Buzz buzz goes off. A cell phone goes off.

Annie picks it up.

The text message reads: Hey, just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you. xoxoxo

Annie seems a little angry and confused.

She can hear Daniel coming back so she sets the phone down on the table. Daniel comes back into the room with couple of beers.

Daniel sits back down. Annie moves closer to him.

ANNIE

Hey. Are you happy?

DANIEL

Are you kidding? I couldn't be happier.

ANNIE

Really?

Daniel can tell something is up so he sets his beer down.

DANIEL

I love you. I love our life together, here in our little home. Where's this coming from?

ANNIE

I don't know. I guess I just worry sometimes I'm not enough.

DANIEL

(CARESSING HER FACE) Annie, you are more then I could ever wish for. Even if I imagined the most perfect dream girl--she wouldn't even come close to you.

ANNIE

Really?

DANIEL

Really.

The two embrace in a kiss. They resume the movie.

SUPERIMPOSE MONTAGE:

Annie and Daniel laughing at something off screen.

Daniel feeding Annie some grapes.

Daniel and Annie kissing on the couch.

Annie asleep on Daniel's chest. Daniel looking down, smiling, then resuming watching television.

DISSOLVE TO:

EXT. HOUSE - NIGHT

Same pan shot from earlier of the stormy night.

Daniel awakes. Television is a blank screen. Daniel looks around and notices Annie is gone.

DANIEL

Annie? (BEAT) Babe, where are you?

Daniel looks around. He checks the kitchen, outside. As he closes the front door, he hears the water go on in the bathroom.

CUT TO:

INT. BATHROOM - NIGHT

Daniel opens the door, checks the shower, the sink is on. After a moment of confusion, he turns the water off.

The lights flicker.

DANIEL

Annie!

After a beat.

ANNIE(O.C.)

Yeah.

SMASH CUT TO:

INT. LIVING-ROOM - NIGHT

Annie is sitting back on the couch, eating some popcorn.

Daniel enters the room.

ANNIE

There you are. Who was at the door?

DANIEL

No one. Where'd you go?

ANNIE

I was in the bathroom, I'm sorry did I wake you?

DANIEL

No-no. I was just a little worried. Did you turn on the sink?

ANNIE

Oh geez. Did I forget to turn it off again? I'm sorry.

The lights flicker again. Daniel looks around.

ANNIE

Looks like we should hit the lights in-case a circuit blows.

Daniel sits back down next to Annie.

DANIEL

I was just worried something--had happened.

Annie grabs Daniel's hand.

ANNIE

(BEAT, LOOKS INTO HIS EYES) Listen, you're not gonna lose me.

Daniel kisses Annie's hand, and they both resume watching television.

The same shot of Annie lying on Daniel is sped up to the next morning.

Annie is lying peacefully alone.

Knock! knock! on the door. Annie awakens.

 CUT TO:

EXT. HOUSE DOOR - MORNING

BUDDY, SAM, and JENNY are standing on the porch. All three of them appear to be concerned.

ANNIE

Oh hey guys.

jenny

I've been trying to get a hold of you.

ANNIE

Sorry. There's been a lot going on. Come in.

INT.living room -day

Jenny, Buddy and Sam follow in behind Annie.

Annie takes a seat in the chair. Jenny, Buddy and Sam sit across from her.

ANNIE

So what's up?

buddy

We just wanted to check up on you. See how you're holding up. I've left like twenty voicemails.

ANNIE

I'm fine. Daniel and I have just been really busy. Between the up keep of this place and finding time for each other it's been hectic.

Jenny, Buddy and Sam look at each other with looks of confusion and concern.

ANNIE

What?

JENNY

Annie.

ANNIE

Yeah?

ANNIE

Daniel drowned 2 years ago.

ANNIE

That's impossible. Someone texted him last night. (PICKS UP THE PHONE) See.

Jenny looks at the phone, then back at Annie.

JENNY

Annie, this was from you. Two years ago.

Jenny hands the phone back to Annie.

SUPERIMPOSE:

The text displayed with Annie's name on the top part of the text message.

Annie is in shock.

CUT TO BLACK.

INT. THE SHOP - EVENING

The Shop Keeper is gargling some water. He notices the audience, and spits into a bucket.

shop keeper

(CATCHING HIS VOICE) Seems as though Annie can't quite quit him. (CHEESY LAUGH) Until next time, remember, when you have an uninvited guest, make sure you give them the proper parting gift.

Push out.

CUT TO CREDITS.

END OF EPISODE.
