Badlands

Grungy cherubs reign heavenly,
I march to dreams, laying in my calming tomb,
Mischievous wands chanting grimy spells, on me,

One further day alone, in a complex labyrinth,
Of purple stone, and witty tomes,
Words spoken in slithering tone,
Eyes broken in by piercing bone,
And I breath deeply, for all of life to leap,
Into the sky,

Sorrowful flakes of wheat, spindling in defeat,
For me, to accept, wholeheartedly,
My spoon, trembles anxiously,

Blazing skulls caught aflame,
Princes chagrining in fame,
It vexes them into abysmal corrals,
Only to discover morale is gone,

Malevolent waves caper across noble shores,
The badlands beckon souls to carry, the chains,

Scarlet waves of turbulent spirits, scavenging the deserted plains,
The battered, lonely bones of the insane,
The diamond ash, sparkling the maddened lanes,
For Death,

The roar of the beastly engines firing up,
The magma steel boiling with suspense and anger,
Rabid with fear; frigid by skulls that linger,
For Death,

Pristine, grouchy armies frolic with despondent frowns stricken like scars,
Banished on sharp chins, awaiting the fated caress,
For Death, seems, best,

Chortling cherubs, cascading drops of nectarine liquid,
Onto befallen villages, deserted by us,
Distant cries, of people now lost,
And an eerie specter, wanders aimlessly through town,
Reminiscing destiny, one last time,

In the badlands, laughter forgets,
To interrupt a moment, when laughter seems fit,
Seemingly drawn, the painter retires,
The imagination dies, abruptly sober,
And all that is left, is to traverse mystified spires,
Oh,

Oh,

Oh,

In the badlands, the sun is always happy,
In the badlands, slime swims in your blisters,
In the badlands, life is never funny,
