I saw Silly Putty the other day,

and my mind thought back,

to a simpler time, and a simpler life,

that included;

Staying up all night at friends

birthday parties,

having pillow fights and playing Nintendo,

and wearing MC Hammer pants.

We were Too Legit,

Too Legit to Quit,

looking at juke boxes at HobbyTownUSA,

riding our bikes everywhere

and loitering where there

was no loitering allowed,

eating Cheez balls and Shoe String potato chips,

playin hide n' seek, kick the can, truth or dare, and tag,

watching cartoons on Saturday morning,

playin with Legos, Transformers, GI Joes, and Micro Machines,

owning tiny Apple computers before internet

even existed,

owning phones that hung on the wall,

and the cord hung off the phone,

times of tape players and VHS tapes,

and getting Slurpees at 7 Eleven,

hearing parents play needles on vinyl,

listening to nineties rock and cheesy sitcoms,

messing around with old typewriters

that are now just for show,

having your parents drive you to the mall

even though you never bought anything,

running in the sprinklers, blasting

Super Soakers, setting up Slip n' Slide,

throwing Nerf footballs,

playing whiffle ball in the cul-de-sacs,

go jumping off of swings and then

go get some Big Leage Chew,

Days when you were a kid

and there were no responsibilities

and every day was a vacation.

Those were the Vintage Days.
