The Long Kiss Goodbye
I can see you standing in the shadows. The outline of your figure somehow so distinct, and at the same time you are blended into the blackness. But your face I can't see. Maybe it's there but I'm too focused on your silhoutte to even register it. I take a few steps to you, but you take a few back. Why? I need to see your face. I need to see the glimmer of your eyes. I take a few more steps to you, but this time you hold your ground. The slight breeze glides across your hair, almost as black as the shadows you are confined to. We are within touching distance, and I take your hand. The warm squeeze, the feeling of security with my hand in yours is a simple luxury I wish we could have done more. The blue-green dusk of your eyes, aimed at the ground, slowly peer into mine. Somehow no words are necessary. I wouldn't even know what to say. I just want to see you, as you are in this moment, for as long as time will allow. But for now you place your lips on mine, and they linger. But maybe it was only for a second. How could I know how long it was? I was too lost in the fantasy you created for me. You release and gaze into my eyes; my wondering and speculative eyes, and at that very millisecond, I know that that was the long kiss goodbye.

A well written, sensitive piece here. To me, it read like an introduction to a full story......
I liked it very much
Wow beautiful. This was very good.
Take Care,
Ana
