Sometimes when we desperately need help, our kin isn't enough. Maybe we need a hero, but is the hero coming?

Superman Can’t Save Us!
By H.F

Help me, somebody, anybody, for I have endured depression
The rope that holds my body and mind has lost connection
No guidance upon me is felt and I lost my way
Why would norms be the judges, just because I’m gay?
Save me from the ending, save me from the fall
Yet somebody, anybody, won’t hear my call

I stand on top of a building, waiting the right moment
My friends and family, how come they haven’t given me token?
Needless to say, I am totally broken
Not even a hero, not Spiderman, especially not Superman
I step off the edge, feeling my weight being pulled downward
Waiting for my hero, maybe he’s a coward?
I feel gravity, yet too late to say goodbye
My mass hitting the ground, no time to cry
I instantly die, my body feeling like rust
Where is my hero? Oh, right, Superman can’t save us!
