I wrote this mainly because I got told I had to do a poem on bullying for homework...I guess you could relate it cause social alienation is bullying.

I force a smile

Even if it’s only for a while.

I feel this emptiness inside,

A cold feeling

Always  seems to

Hold me back.

While at the same time,

Puts me right back into

My shell.

All I can see now is loneliness

In the distance,

No light

Through this window

Just darkness ahead,

I try

To see the heart

People used to show towards me

But

Right now I feel as though

No one gives a damn about

Me.

I’m just here

Sitting,

Acting like I don’t care

But the truth is

I feel so alone

I wish you would care.

I’m so trapped in this thick, hard shell

With no one to even act like they care

About who I am now

Or who I might really be

But right now all I see

Is regret ahead of me.

So,

I just sit here

Nodding and smiling

Whenever one of you decide to come near.

This person you never seem to see

Is constantly faking

In front of you

Cause, when I’m not me

I don’t want to care about who you see

So, I guess

You will never know the

Real me.
