Blank page

ink pen

empty brain

nothing to write.

The pen will

touch the page

when my brain

has something to write.

Starting to think

a brainstorm erupting

I sit beside the TV

waiting.

I start to think

I start to write

I start to eat

Aw, what the heck.

I start the paper

my hand gliding across the page

like a dove with air wings.

Yet it doesn't sing.

I crumple the paper up

my face turning a bright red

when I see my mom unravel this poem

and lay it on my bed.

I go downstairs to get a snack

although there is nothing to eat.

I feel hungry

yet I need to write.

But nothing has come to me yet.

But what if I think and think and think

or what if I drink and drink and...

gosh! I really need to start to think...

But I just can't

So I give up

go to my room

and get one

off the internet.
