A Cardboard box,

A place to lay.

A grime filled alley,

A place to play.

A trash filled can,

A place to eat.

A ten year old,

In the streets.

A Daddy in jail,

At least he's warm.

A Momma's No longer,

In the way of harm.

A Child so fragile,

With eyes so old.

Won't ever know anything,

At least not cold.
