One by one the petals drop.

Wild flowers abound in the fields nearby,

This one didn't turn out, give it another try.

After thirty-two years, I'm still picking flowers,

About my feet, the petals abound in towers.

I ask myself, where did I go wrong.

When I was younger, the flowers left a song.

She loves me, she loves me not,

The last petal falls, not the answer I sought.

Have I grown so callous, my heart seasoned with age,

As in any story, have I reached the last page?

I pick another flower, The petals begin to fall,

I see this one turns the same, is there any hope at all?

My eyes sweep the field where the wild flowers abound.

The day is deathly quiet, nowhere is there a sound.

Is there any flowers left? Will they all say the same?

If that is so, there is none but I to blame.
