The Aussie Musketeers #1

Back out west in their younger days,

Back ‘fore the “Pony Express”,

Hamp and Len were saddle pards.

Why, we can only guess.

The days of the bandannas,

The days of secret names.

Maybe that’s the very reason,

Neither rode to fame.

This tale starts out around the fire,

A running iron was hot.

Alongside a tied down calf,

For gains evilly got.

Len looked at his saddle pard,

Said, “I’m getting out.

Met a man on the internet,

Australia’s what it’s about.

Calls himself “Boomerang Bruce,

Down in Aussie land.

Said there’s money falling from trees,

Nude girls on beaches of sand.”

Well ole Hamp looked at his pard,

“Are we leaving today?

I want to see those pretty, young things,

And own an orchard that will pay.”

So as fast as a click of a “mouse,”

They’re standing on Aussie sand,

Seeing all the pretty, young things,

Made each, glad of being a man.

Down the beach sauntered a hombre,

An Aussie song, he sang.

They knew it just had to be Bruce.

Cause he wore twin boomerangs.

He was a younger fella, compared to them in years.

But he had one wild red eye,

And lacked something ‘tween the ears.

They joined the man at the “pub”,

or whatever they’re called down there.

“Three bottles of “Foster”, was what was called,

As he casually looked over the pair.

In the future, this saga continues,

Of these Aussie musketeers,

Two that traveled from the north,

And one who lacked, something ’tween his ears.
