I laid out the blanket

And you poured the wine.

We sat down and relaxed,

And watched the stars shine.

When the wine had kicked in

We could feel ourselves tingling.

We looked at each other

And caught ourselves giggling.

The air hung around us

Like Mother Nature’s embrace.

I noticed your smile

Matched the one on my face.

The lights from the fireflies

Swirled in our eyes.

They flew and they flashed,

And they lit up the skies.

We got to our feet

And we started to dance.

All the drinking and laughing

Had us in a trance.

The world kept on spinning,

Even as we stood still.

So we sat down together,

On top of that hill.

We looked down around us

At all if the land.

I felt like a queen,

Holding the king’s hand.
