My favorite thing to do
Is stay up to see the other side
Of midnight with you.

Listening to you breathe,
As you drift off into sleep,
Your hand clinging to mine.

Air escapes your open lips.
I feel it on my fingertips,
As I gently trace your features.

I try to see into your mind.
To see the things you've left behind,
And all that's in your future.

I whisper "I love you" in your ear.
I know it's what you want to hear.
I hope it makes you dream of me.

The rhythm of your beating heart
Hits me like a sharpened dart.
I swear it's saying my name.

I don't know how long we'll last.
I pray to God it won't end fast.
'Cause baby, I'm enjoying every minute.
