We’re all connected.

It’s not a belief anymore; all earthly and spiritual life forms are connected in some way. The question now is how.

We know humans have predated to thousands of years in the past, with creatures like dinosaurs and cavemen to come before us. The other thing to keep in mind is that us humans aren’t the only ones connected.

All beings are connected.

be·ing

/?b?iNG/

noun

1. existence.

Everything that exists is considered a being.

In that case, you’re related to everything you see around you now.

The chair you’re sitting on.

The computer you’re reading this from.

The blanket wrapped around you.

The clothes you’re wearing.

You’re connected to everything

Even the planets and the stars. The house you live in. The food you eat. Crazy, isn’t it? What’s even more crazy is that the afterlife does exist; it wasn’t just a prefabricated way to make people believe in a world after death.

All beings in the mortal realm are attached to a being in the afterlife. Think of the beings like spiritual guides; followers who can’t leave your side. Most of these ‘guides’ are holy beings - they exist to serve mortals in a positive way.

Then there are the dark wisps.

The bad beings have come to be called dark wisps just because of the deathly energy they emit. Holy bodies are scared of them. That includes me. They can overtake a holy being’s possession of a human and follow them instead. The holy being is then given another earthly being to connect to.

How did this news cross the dimensional wall? A very special girl by the name of Alice wasn’t born correctly. When a being in the mortal realm passes or dies, the intended result is a new being, one of greater sustenance and power.

For example, a being previously existing as a lamp may be a rhinoceros in their next life. After that they could become a common peasant, and after that a wealthy monarch. This doesn’t happen in order; time is simply an illusion in the mortal realm with the purpose to bring death onto the living and mortal beings. Without time in the mortal realm, it would be likely for some people to never die. Nothing would age. While accidents and caused deaths may still appear at a constant rate, some may evidently live forever.

This is where Alice comes in; her reincarnation didn’t go as planned.

I am a being in the afterlife, and I was attached to Alice.

Past tense. Was.

I watched over her being as she moved to another lifeform and utterly failed in transferring her there. Her previous memories carried over. She was a royal queen in the victorian era before. Now she was a child in the twenty-first century.

Problems began when her first word was wealth. She said this when she was two months old.

Two months.

Her parents were smart enough to take her to see a doctor.

That was their first mistake.

Alice was the child to change history. The doctors didn’t know that yet. They wouldn’t know that until she grew older and began speaking of past events like they happened yesterday; the detail she used and the terminology she possessed surpassed anything they had ever seen.

It was almost like she had lived thousands of lives before.

This was her fifth reincarnation.

The next mistake the parents made was to publicize their child. Alice was on the local news, billboards, television commercials, newspaper articles, and anything else they could think of. The news of the girl who’d lived before spread like wildfire, eventually consuming the minds of the world.

Thousands came to ask her questions about their past lives.

Thousands got answers from Alice.

Correct answers.

How was she doing this? Right as her being was moving from entity to entity, a dark wisp took control. During the memory removal process, it came up from behind me and its dark energy flipped the switch to my consciousness. While I was incapacitated, the dark wisp took the Victorian Queen and never removed her memory energy. She was then born as Alice.

This dark wisp also punctured a hole in Alice’s being; some of the light came flooding out and the wisp’s darkness replaced it.

This gave Alice a method of communication with her dark wisp.

This shouldn’t have happened.

Us beings in the afterlife can know everything about a person just by looking at them. Alice’s wisp could see earthly entities through that piece of darkness it snuck inside her being. It could see through Alice’s eyes, and it could tell her anything she desired to know.

Alice could see anything about a person’s being with her dark wisp.

Reincarnations.

Descendants.

Future relationships.

Death dates.

This brought on a world of complications for the young girl. She’s gone through many lab experiments and is most likely still going through them now.

The scientists won’t find anything. Alice has the ability to avoid any of their complex questions.

She has access to the thoughts of their beings.

She doesn’t know this, but she can control the illusion that is time, too. It won’t be long before she realizes this, either.

If she wanted, she could control the world.

***

I’ve made a mistake.

Alice will be incredibly powerful sooner than any of us imagined.

Beings in the afterlife can read the thoughts of other beings in any realm just by looking at them. That means nonhuman entities like the holy beings and the dark wisps can find out what their peers in the spiritual world are thinking.

I just noticed that Alice’s dark wisp has been staring at me.

It still is.
