Youthful Anticipation by Happy Jack

Saturday morning---what a treat.

As I put shoes upon my feet---

A sweet smell approaches my nose,

And with it my appetite grows---

Curiosity fills my mind.

Therefore I leave my room behind.

Then---a sizzle I start to hear,

And I begin to loudly cheer.

Now I must keep my pupils dry,

for the joy makes me want to cry.

And as my eyes fill with water,

The warmth inside me grew hotter.

For now I know what I'll soon eat,

Only the most delicious meat---

I enter the kitchen with pace,

And suddenly I feel my face,

Light up like the fourth of July,

When I see the food eye-to-eye.

(For now it can’t be mistaken)

Today I am eating bacon.
