Blossom

Flowers and humans,

are alike in many different ways.

We both have similar life journeys,

that all begin in a day.

At first a flower sprouts,

a little bud, which is usually green.

A human is born,

so small that they can just be seen.

The flower grows a little stalk,

and it gets bigger every day.

We also grow in length and strength,

like a flower, but in a different way.

The first leaf begins to grow,

on the slowly sprouting stalk.

We begin to grow our teeth,

as well as the ability to talk.

As the flower grows on throughout the weeks,

it goes through a period of lots of sun, wind and rain.

Humans also go through different elements,

of happiness, sadness and pain.

Soon the flower begins to blossom,

the time for you to change.

We go through puberty,

when we often shout with rage.

As each petal of the flower,

grows until it is right.

We also find a career,

that is right.

The flower changes colour,

signifying love.

We do what is right,

to find our true love.

When the flower is still vibrant,

we go and have fun.

To visit the many wonders of Earth,

and play in the sun.

Finally , the flower starts to wear,

and the petals start to shrink

We start to age,

and wrinkles there are when we wink.

As the flower goes brown,

it becomes fragile and frail.

We become grandfathers and grandmothers,

all gentle and frail.

The time finally comes,

for the flower die and float away.

This is the time,

to also fly away to heaven.
