This poem helped me come to terms with my Grandmother's death. Writing it aided the healing process so it is a very personal poem for me.

Goodbye

Misty skies,

Over-looking our goodbyes,

Furrowed sky crying for our tears,

Grey day at the end of your years.

Black procession,

Rigid suits marching,

Past your black box, the ultimate sleek bed

Lord’s man drawls out words that his Lord said,

Curtains shudder,

Whispered farewells uttered,

Surreal silence fills thumping ears,

Dull glory at the end of your years.
