I met a girl

Who came down from Maine

Her hair was red

Her name was Jane

I loved her

She loved me

But there was something

That I didn't see

She had a husband

That I couldn't match

But she also had an itch

That I needed to scratch

So with great haste

And no time to spare

We happily started

A sinful love affair

But when summer came she had to go

I said I would always call

She said that I shouldn't

She'd be back when the leaves fall

So every year

She would come back to me

My heart would always

Fill with glee

When she touched me

My heart would flutter

But when I would try to talk

 My words would stutter

But always at the end

When the summer would start to call

She would always tell me she would be back

When the leaves fall
