Senses

In a world of monsters it’s hard to find safety in this world that judges you for everything you do. We run from the kids who tease us, and the parents who beat us. Sometimes the enemy isn't someone you can run from sometimes your greatest enemy is yourself.

Pain was what she would feel from being hurt by the words of society because she was bigger than most girls. They'd taunt her with food and then making fun of her when she'd happily take it.

Screams was what she would hear from her parents. They would yell and hurt each other with threats and childish words. Adults after all are just grown up children, and they can be just a cold as the children who bully their daughter.

Tipsy women and angry brothers what she'd see as her mother tried to help the crazy girl obsessed with her sibling. While her father would hold back her brother screaming empty threats and curse words at the crazy girl. Watching the scene unfold she didn’t feel bad knowing the girl had caused her brother to try and end his own life.

Smoke and alcohol was what she would smell as she stood beside the door watching her father's box of cigarettes pile up into a mountain. When he left the house for a while she would grab a left over cigarette and put it in mouth as well trying to relieve the stress and anger of her family.

Salty tears were what she could taste through the hysteria as a sharp razor was held in her hand, and when a tear hit her arm so did that razor as she slid is across her wrist more tears overflowing.

Her family was so dysfunctional from a heavy smoker dad, a depressed crying mom, a suicidal drug addict brother, and finally a sad daughter who wanted nothing more for her to end her life. No one would ever have guessed for her to be suicidal, but then again no one ever noticed the horrible things people did to her.

Her smile had fooled everyone's senses even her own sometimes, but she could never escape the pain the world had given her. When things got better she started to go to therapy and smile more, but her family still wasn't getting better. She would try to ignore it and imagine everything was fine, but her senses were telling her otherwise. Then she walked to her room falling to the floor and holding up that same razor in her hands against her wrist wishing the pain would just end....
