It seemed I had chosen the perfect time to pay a visit to my ex boyfriend Sam Winchester who was staying in the room next to mine, I had managed to slip into the room just as he had decided to workout…shirtless.
It felt strange referring to Sam as my ex, I was still used to calling him my boyfriend. If he hadn’t gone to Hell then things would be different, we’d still be together and he wouldn’t be so…different. I still couldn’t figure out just why things hadn’t simply returned to the way things were when he returned, that’s how it would have worked out in most cases. So why was he so distant now? Why was he suddenly uninterested in me?
Sitting down on the bed in the room I watched him intently doing various stages of workout ranging from push ups to sit ups and finally pull ups. A pleasant shiver ran down my spine as I leant back on my hands taking in the view, he may have lost interest in me but I’d be lying if I said there wasn’t attraction from one side.
I had just gotten lost in the moment when he had decided to stop and I noticed a figure moving by the bathroom, frowning slightly I followed his gaze and noticed a dark haired woman had joined us in the room.
“Don’t stop on my account” she commented whilst leaning against the doorframe, obviously enjoying the view as much as I was.
“I’m done” Sam replied, obviously not wanting an in depth conversation to start anytime soon. This new woman however hadn’t picked up the hint.
“Last night was a…high point” she had cleared her throat halfway through her sentence for reasons I couldn’t quite place.
My heart had sunk even lower then it had when I noticed she was in the room, at least when she hadn’t started talking I could have pretended that she was here for a completely different reason…even if I would be living in temporary denial.
The cold atmosphere began creeping around the room and I began to feel awkward sitting here watching their conversation, although inside I was snickering at how distant Sam was being towards her.
“Alright…well nice seeing you start your day, when did you say you were heading out?” she enquired stepping closer.
Sam refused to answer and simply stood in front of her, looking at her with complete disinterest.
There was still no answer from the only male in the room and he continued to give her a look that suggested she leave as soon as possible.
“Damn you know how to play that mystery card”
Finally getting the hint that she wasn’t wanted here she turned to leave and had made it to the door before Sam cleared his throat making her turn back around just as he pulled out a wad of money from his back pocket. My eyes widened in realisation and shock…Sam Winchester was paying for sex!
When did he start going out to find prostitutes?!
“Right…I almost forgot” this was said in a badly acted tone “next time you can call me on my day off…if you want” she smiled flirtatiously whilst passing him a card.
My eyebrow twitched as I tried to stop it from rising in curiosity ‘prostitutes have business cards now?’
“Ok” Sam replied bluntly whilst taking the card from her.
Watching her finally leave was a little relieving but also filled the room with a tension I’d never felt before, I was still used to feeling relaxed and at ease around him but all that had changed when we were reunited.
I watched him as he screwed up the card and threw it into the bin across the room before turning to face me, his expression as unreadable as ever. As our eyes connected a shiver of revolt and disgust ran down my spine…I didn’t know him anymore.
