A poem I wrote in response to my father. My first poem was dark, it talked of death. He saw it and said he wanted me to write about 'ponies, rainbows and flowers. stuff girls are supposed to write about.'. After that I had to write poetry in secret.

I can not write of
Joy and Happiness
And Love so pure,
For it’s the sadness
That in my heart endures.
It’s the sorrow,
Pain and Misery,
That on my page must bleed,
Poetry is the outlet for my
Sadness that I need.
So forgive me, father,
For the Dark things I must write.
For if I do not, they will
Come as Nightmares in the night.
I can not let my Happiness
Escape from my soul
Onto to the empty page,
Which is the prison for my
Misery, Pain and Rage.
