It's almost as if my eyes were clenched shut
Darkness… utter darkness
Surrounded me.

I felt lost, alone… and abandoned.
My skin felt foreign, unknown
And distant.

Voices inside me stirring,
Echoing against my soul.
The cavernous feeling of emptiness

I felt lost in my reflection.
For who I am seems so far removed
From who I long to be.

Whispering secrets whirling around
Like a cloudy haze of doubt
I succumb to the realization

Of who I am meant to be.
