Hinata walked down the street, deep in thought, concentrating. She wanted to tell Naruto. Confess to him. But she was just so shy around him. It made her so upset sometimes. She always faints around him. Geez.

Bump

"Oh sorry sir." Hinata was so lost in thought that she didn't even notice that she ran into somebody.
"Hah. No problem Hinta!"
Oh no.. That voice that she knew oh so well. "N-Naruto!" Hinata, speechless. She hadn't expected to run into him anytime soon ot ever.
"Hey I was just about to get some Ramen, care to join me?" Naruto grinned that stupid grin of his.
Hinata, taking this opportunity, nodded stupidly.
Naruto just smiled, grabbed her arm, and pulled her along. Hinata promised herself that she would get somewhere with Naruto. She wouldn't faint. She would talk to him. She wanted to tell him. Tell him how she felt. And she would. Eventually.
Once they had arrived at Ichiraku Ramen, Naruto took his seat and patted the chair next to him. Hinata sat beside him, regaining her composure.
Hinata sat, silently, eating her first bowl whilst Naruto was scarfing down his third. Once Naruto was done, he turned.
"So.. Hinata. How've you been? You seemed deep in thought earlier. Something wrong?"
"Ah.. No. I was just.. Thinking of some new training techniques!"
"Ooh cool! Could you show me sometime?"
"...Sure. Anytime." She forced a smile, considering she wasn't thinking of techniques, she was thinking about him! "But..uh.. Can I tell you something? I.. um.. I..uh..I l-lo--"
"NARUTO?!"
Naruto flinches. "Ah. Sorry Hinata. Sakura-chan is calling. I have to go. We'll continue this later 'kay?" And before she could answer, he ran out of the resturant. Naruto laughing at Sakura yelling at him could be heard from where Hinata was.
She sighed, got up, and made her way home. What did she expect? Naruto was head over heels for Sakura. What made her think she had a chance. Even so, she refused to give up. Naruto was going to acknowledge her strength.
Hinata rarely spent time with Naruto. She was usually with Kiba and Shino. She doesn't even hang out with Neji anymore. She always spent time with Neji. They were so close. But, they grew apart as they grew up. She missed her cousin.
Hinata walked into the family house, and walked toward the stairs, but stopped. Neji was lounging on the couch, reading... some book Hinata was unfamiliar with. Hinata took this chance to talk to him.
"Ah.. Hey Neji." She walked next to him, and smiled politely. "What 'cha reading?"
"Mhm... Nothing.." He closed the book. "Something you need?"
"Oh.. No. I just thought that, maybe we could talk?"
Neji stood up. Hinata never noticed just how tall he was compared to her. She barely saw him so she wouldn't know.
Hinata sighed in frustration. "What happened to us? We used to be so close. What happened to that? I miss how close we were. I miss how you would help me with my training, make sure I didn't mess of or hurt myself. I miss us..." She stopped herself and looked away. She actually said. Once step forward I guess.
Neji smiled slightly. "I've missed us, too. How about this. We'll hang out. Right now, even. Anywhere, you choose!"
Hinata thought for a bit. "Well I don't know where we could go.." There wasn't much to do in Konoha. That's why we always enjoyed missions. "Why don't we go for a walk together? Just us?" Hinata suggested. She was always socially awkward, but she tried. She was comfortable with Neji until they grew apart.
Hinata sighed. Looking at Neji, she never really studied his appearance. Yes, they looked alike yet Hinata couldn't help but notice that Neji was attractive. She never really understood what Tenten found in him but that was only because she only ever looked at him as her family. She never looked at him like a stranger would. She knew perfectly well that a lot of girls in Konoha thought Neji was, if only a little bit, attractive. It made her wonder if the men in the village thought she was attractive. She's always been self-conscious and she's never thought she was better than anyone. She's always known that Neji was way beyond her. Same goes for Naruto.
Getting caught up in memories, she remembered a time, quiet some time ago, where her and Neji really bonded. They were maybe five years old. They were playing around in their backyard. They were running around, having fun, enjoying life. Neji always enjoyed popping out behind trees, scaring her, teasing her, only cause it made her smile. Neji was always like that. And she finally realized why he didn't want her dating anybody. And it's the same for when he finds a girlfriend. They've grown up together, and she doesn't want to lose him, let alone give him to another woman. Like in this memory, they were together. They were always together. She wasn't that strong back then, Neji always had to look after her, but he didn't mind. He loved her dearly. And the same for her. He was powerful, even at five years old.
Tearing up, Hinata went forward and pulled Neji into a hug. She missed him, and never wanted to lose him. He was the most important person to her. He meant everything to her. And, hopefully, Neji knew that. She missed the memories, the times they spent together, alone. She wanted to play games like how they did when they were young. Simple games, like Hide-n-Seek and Tag. Where he would go out of his way to make her smile. She loved him dearly. And she realized that they had a lot of catching up to do. She realized that she wasn't willing to give him up, not now, not ever. He was her cousin. Her closest family member. She couldn't lose him. She hugged him tighter. She was gong to protect him, even if she lost her life in the process. Even though Neji was stronger than her, and totally capable of taking care of himself, well, everyone makes mistakes. And she would always be there to back him up.
