Some things in life are perfect
they work better than planned, for instance
was called to my physician today
regarding certain tests
more than a little worried
death smiled when I walked in the room,
the Doc spoke in his Doctor`s way
the news delivered with no emotion
I looked at death, his impassive eyes
and winked in understanding
I`ll not be traveling with Charon this day
pain is just pain and I can deal with that.
I know he`ll win sometime, but not this time
I have too many people depending on me.
He glared anger at the Doc
who just shrugged in reply
bidding both arrivederci
as I strolled out of there
wrapped in the loving thoughts
sent from my muse.
