The infamous Tuscan sun
shining down from the heavens;
under Dante`s vigilant gaze
in the glare of noble lions
words pour from the nib of my pen.
Like liquid artistry, it captures life
swirling around me in all of it`s forms,
I try to remember everything
to re-live it all with you
while wishing you beside me
from half a world away.
I pause at the sound of church bells
ringing out the passing
of another hour without you,
treading softly along each narrow street
twisted in light and shadow
following a trail never left
except in our future.
