Written several years ago during a time when I was searching for Contentment in life.

Rustle Rustle Rustle
My mind wanders the city tonight
a tumbleweed
longing for a place to rest

what do I seek?
solace from the day or
escape from its reality
and the needs of tomorrow?

But I find the city is closed to me tonight
and so I tumble through empty streets
testing boarded shops
trying to remember why I boarded them

trying to gather my strength to go home
to sleep
to rest
to seek solace in the Only

I know He's there
why do I seek elsewhere?
more fun?
yeah . . .fun . . .escape

Rustle Rustle Rustle
When will the tumbling stop?

The answer comes
the answer crushes my soul
the answer I know all to well
It will set me free One says

I choose to ignore the answer right now
I long for the strength to stop

I may never stop

I may never come to an understanding of
true peace
true joy
true contentment

He says no.
I roll along
Rustle Rustle Rustle
