JUST A NAME ON A TOMBSTONE - EMMA

Summary

I was walking through the graveyard that I often walk through - when I saw the stone that for some reason made a impact on me

JUST A NAME ON A TOMBSTONE - EMMA

I walked through the graveyard

And there you were before me

EMMA - just a name on a tombstone.

You won my heart.

Just 20 years old when

You passed away in 1908

Mourned by your parents

For their "Beloved Daughter".

I know no more- why should I care?

Just a name on a cold grey tombstone.

But once you lived

I hope you were happy

I hope your death was peaceful

I hope you didn't suffer

And most of all I hope that you felt loved

I will pray for you and honour your grave

I will try to find out more about you.

Rest in peace dear Emma

Now not just a name on a tombstone.
