Ok so this was a picture challenge set up by TakeMeAsIAm where we were given a picture and had to write a poem about what we felt that picture was. To me this picture conjured up the image of a world that's been destroyed or abandoned anyway here's the poem...

Look for a world that left not a trace,

Not the faintest of feelings there was ever a race.

The dust whirls through there’s nothing to find,

Just the shell of a world that’s been left behind.

Echo’s of voices lost in the past,

An whispers of treaties not meant to last.

Raindrops fall loudly through silence so clear,

Like droplets of tears once etched in such fear.

A race now forgotten vanished into air,

What’s left is a feeling of lingering despair.

Streets that were littered with people and sound,

Lay empty like wasteland with no one around.

A sound rolls against an empty building wall,

Whoever thought this kingdom was destined to fall.

It’s now ruins and dreams that reside in this place,

Instead of beauty and honour carried with grace.

Sadness is felt for a world with such a fate,

That was filled with envy and taken by hate.

Look now what is left there is nothing more,

Just the memories of a world taken by war….
