On a small island in the tropics, pearls were an item coveted by all for their lustrous color and perfext shape. They were worn by many of the locals and loved by all. One day a young girl skipped down to the beach and found Mr. Oyster laying in the sand.

"Oh, Mr. Oyster," She spoke. "Won't you make me a beautiful string of pearls? I would so love to wear them as a necklace."

"Of course," Mr. Oyster said. "I will make you the most beautiful string of pearls i can."

Soon the word of Mr. Oyster's Generosity spread and locals had started to come from all over the island, asking for Mr. Oyster's pearls. To his dismay, the pearls he had promised had turned out flawed and lopsided and he watched with a broken heart as the disappointed locals strode away. The next day a teary-eyed woman ran to the beach and sought out the oyster. Fearing another request for an number of pearls he could not make well, Mr. Oyster hid and watched the sad woman.

"Mr. Oyster," she sobbed. "All her life my mother had dreamed of owning a pearl. Now the cancer has spread and the doctor says she doesn't have much more time. My only wish is to give her a single pearl so that her dream may come true."

Feeling sympathetic for the woman who sought his help, Mr. Oyster worked as hard as he could, day and night, until the woman returned to the sandy shore. She found him laying by the waves, and when he opened his mouth, he revealed the most beautiful pearl he had ever made.
