 A Street Dog

Lying in the shadow, dying in the shadow;

A dog with courtesy eyes looking at me,

And I with no mercy left him in the lonely night.

And the thrashy storms of wind made him peon.

Why shouldn’t I keep him up?

I felt too much for a little dog,

There were many rays of the darkened shadows,

Which figured out many shadows,

Which showed me aspects of my life,

Why shouldn’t I keep him up?

But, I went alone in the windy weather,

And made the dog bear it alone,

I was too selfish to think for him,

And the dark black night went on downer….
