Hong Sui Go

Four Swordsman of the East

Jin

I am not a bad person. My name is Jin. Here in Japan, my family had never been rich. Before my parents died of some obscure sickness, I was forced to take what isn’t mine. In my late teenage years, before my father passed away into the next world, he gave me a curved sword. The katana was exquisitely beautiful with its golden wrappings and dark black blade. The blade was the darkest shade of black possible. My father quickly told me the story of the sword, named Li, how it cut through the hearts of thirteen evil men and demons. In it, were the stored souls of its opponents that could be released at the whim of the owner. Just as it was my fathers, it was my responsibility to never let this sword fall into the wrong hands. My father failed, he let it into my hands. With this new power, I readied myself to unfurl the spirits of the sword to wreak havoc on Japan. These men who have always had food and never suffered were about to suffer a fate crueler than death.

Hong

I am not a bad person. My name is Hong. I am sixteen. Poverty is all I have ever known. Never have I known wealth, abundance, or my parents. When I was but a baby, a strange man called by many as Pan, taught me how to survive. Taught me to eat fruit and kill wildlife. Taught me never to steal, kill, or even hate. Gave me food when I had none. I loved this man. I loved his bright cheery attitude, his short goatee he trimmed for “the ladies”, his bright shining face that always appeared whenever a dark situation came about. But one day, when were picking fruit, a man with a long black sword unleashed a demonic apparition unto Pan. Pan fell. Grabbing his hand, I knew that his death must be avenged. I will never forget that black sword. Nor will I forget the face of the owner. For one day I will remove it from his body.

Jin

I just unleashed the last of the thirteen spirits unto the land. What once was a beautiful town with those of wealthy upbringing is now a dark, deserted, wasteland. It looks otherworldly. No buildings, no plants, and no signs that life had ever even existed here. The only feature this place has is the very ground you stand on. This is how the world should be. Quiet. Life only serves as an obstacle to silence. With its constant commotion and cyclical chaotic chorus, it detracts from the beauty of peace. Silence is peace. Peace is silence.

Hong

What has that man done to my home? The atrocities that befall on my humble abode are as numerous as they are criminal. There were good people that lived here. Here in this… wasteland. It seems as if there was a wildfire that destroyed all that was beautiful and bright. I am glad Pan did not have to see this sight. Pan was the embodiment of life, fitting that when he died, so did the livelihood of this place. The damage done to my home was obviously irreparable. So, I left the wasteland that was the village of Ba and headed to the abode of the one man I knew outside of Ba. The brother of Pan.

Jin

My sword is still hungry. Still hungry for light, for blood, for life. Suddenly, a man runs into my barren domain, weeping. “What has happened to my family? I’ve only been gone a day! And this!” the man said. The man wept and moaned louder and louder. No matter how hard I covered my ears I could still hear his lament. I unsheathed Li and beheaded the loud peasant. Silence. With the silence my muscles started to ease. I picked up a green sword lying on the floor and put into my pack. Then a thought occurred to me, there are other villages. Each of these villages are disturbing the peace that is silence. I then set out to quiet these clamorous offenders. Off to the village of Ko.

Hong

“My brother is dead!?” Po yelled in his small hut in the village of Ja. Po was Pan’s twin brother, and he would’ve been identical to Pan, had he not eaten far more than Pan over these long years. “Yes, I have set out to avenge his death” I replied. Tears roaming down his fat cheek onto his long black beard, Po said “He wouldn’t have wanted you to avenge him. He believed in peace. He believed in life. He was a good man.” Like Pan, Po was not a rich man. Po was the age of fifty-four. He lived in a small hut similar to Pan’s. But Po wasn’t forced to eat fruit off trees. He could afford luxuries such as noodles and rice for he was a farmer. He also had a wife named Mei. Mei was in her fifties, she also was quite an ugly woman. But what she lacked in looks she gained in work ethic, moral fiber, and wisdom. “Po, this young man has his heart out to avenge Pan. You must tell him.” Mei said. Po left the hut and came back in with a large wooden box. “If what you say is true, and the sword that killed my brother was blacker than death, then you must defend yourself with a sword that is brighter than life.” Po said. “Hong, you have never known your parents. Your father was a renowned samurai and your mother was a fine sword maker that made swords even for the gods” Po explained. “A man named Kit, your father Sau, Pan, and I were an inseparable quartet. We were all great swordsman and we defeated many of those who committed criminal deeds” Po said. “Kit? Who is that?” I said. “Hush boy, after we saved Wei, your mother, she forged each of a sword with supernatural abilities. At this time, Sau and Wei did not have the bond of marriage. But it was clear that the two were fated to be. Wei forged me a blue sword symbolizing the ocean, for I was a transparent and open minded man. It has the ability to manipulate small amounts of water. Pan received a green sword symbolizing the earth, for he was able to endure any situation and loved the land. It has the ability to control rocks as if they were your own arms and legs. Sau, your father, received a white sword symbolizing life, for Sau was always merciful over his enemies. It has the ability to summon dragons from the heavens. But Kit received a black sword symbolizing death, for Kit always killed his opponents. This sword had the ability to command the spirits of those it defeats. Kit was angry at Wei for giving him the black sword. He misinterpreted the meaning of the black sword, thinking that it meant that he was fated to die. In his anger, Kit struck Wei with the back of his fist. Sau, outraged at the action of Kit challenged him to a duel. What a duel it was. Since the two best swordsmen in Japan were in a duel, this attracted the attention of many from far and wide. What Kit had in natural talent, Sau had in skill and agility. Kit attacked your father with a ferocity that was unparalleled by even dragons. Sau just blocked and waited for an opportunity to strike. Then BAM! Sau kicked Kit with a well placed kick to the jaw. Holding his white sword to Kit’s neck all he said was “Leave”. Kit got up and turned to leave while saying “Wei says that you got your sword because you have mercy on your enemies. Is that an advantage or a disposition? Let’s see!” Then Kit attempted to punch Sau, but Sau caught the punch with ease and maneuvered Kit’s hand into a jointlock. “Leave” was all Sau said. With that Kit left and was never seen again. Many say he got married and had a child. But it is unknown why he would give his sword to my brother’s killer.” Po said. “If you are to have any chance to defeat the one who wield Kit’s sword named Li, you must wield a powerful sword of your own.”

Jin

Ko, a snowy village in the mountains. Known for its talented drummers. As I neared Ko I heard the obnoxious beat these drummers were creating. I unsheathed Li and released the spirits unto the mountain village. It was laughable what little resistance this town had against my sword. Out of nowhere two samurai walk up to me. “Jin! You are a wanted criminal for your attack upon the village of Ba and now Ko!” the taller samurai said. “My father lived in Ba, before you decimated it, prepare to die!” the smaller samurai said as he ran toward me with his sword up. What these two didn’t know was that I had been trained in the samurai arts too. In fact, I had trained myself so intensely in the samurai arts by my father that I blocked the sword of the second samurai without even paying any notice to him. “Your father? I think I do remember your face! Yes! Your pathetic father begged me not to kill him. That was when I stuck my sword in his stomach. I remember killing that man in particular slowly for even requesting to live.” I said. The smaller samurai attacked even harder. Good, rage always makes the attack of the opponent less focused and easier to block. I blocked all of his attacks until I saw an opportunity to repost, then I sliced straight into his chest. He fell dead into the snow. Then the larger samurai sent his sword to my head. I blocked it with ease and beheaded the warrior. As the snow fell down I looked around to see the spirits come back into my sword. This place looks similar to Ba. But instead of just rocky ground, it is a bloody snow. Silent. I stripped off the black armor of the smaller Samurai and put it on. Perfect fit. Whats that? I see a small boy running out of the village silently. I readied Li to take another life, but decide to spare the child for the silence of his escape.

Hong

Inside the wooden box was a white sheathed katana. “That sword is called Sui. Only those worthy of the sword are able to unsheathe it. That was the genius of your mother. Well go on. Unsheathe it.” Po said. I reached into the wooden box and grabbed the sword. Firmly grasping the handle and the sheathe I unsheathed the sword. “As I suspected, I must teach you the ways of the samurai. You are not ready to face the wielder of Li, for I know that to unsheathe Li you must be an outstanding swordsman. I will teach you in the morning. But for now, we cannot waste this roasted crane my wife has prepared, let’s eat.” Po said.

Xiao

That man actually let me live! It was so obvious that he saw me. I was running as silently as I could, but he still stared at me with those dead eyes and that dreadfully black sword! I have to get to Ja, maybe my boss Po will know what to do!

Hong

After eating I headed to the small shack that Po keeps his hay in. “I hope my brother didn’t pamper you, because this is where you will be sleeping for the duration of your stay.” Po said. “It’s perfect, thank you so much for taking me in.” I reply. “Think nothing of it. Like a fish in a stream… no like a bird in the sky… oh forget it, Pan and I were never good at philosophy.” Po said. He then turned to leave the shack as a small boy ran into the room.

Xiao

“Po sir!” I said. “Xiao, what are you doing here at night? Come back and pluck the rice in the morning!” Po said. “But sir, someone has decimated the village of Ko!” I exclaimed. Then Hong grabbed me by the shoulders and yelled “Did he have a black sword?!” How did he know? “Yes he did Hong. It’s been a long time! I haven’t seen you since last year!” “Hey! Xiao, tell us about Ko now, reminisce later.” Po said. “Well he not only killed the two samurai of Ko, but he killed every single one of the townsfolk!” I said. “He did that to my village! I’m not going to let him touch one more village. Po, give me my father’s sword” Hong said. “No! If you are to have any chance in defeating him, you must train first. I will only give you Sui if you can beat me in a wooden sword duel” Po said. “I can beat you now! Let me fight you in the morning then!” Hong said. “Very well, the day you can beat me in a duel, I will allow you to take Sui and fight against the wielder of Li.”

Hong

I woke up in the morning and headed outside of my shack. I saw Xiao working in the field plucking rice. I waved to him and he waved ecstatically to me. He always had this sort of hero-worship for me. I turned around. Sure enough, Po was there with two wooden swords. I chose the longer sword, opting for reach rather than speed. We headed to the top of a nearby hill and took our stances. I knew a little bit of swordsmanship. Pan had taught me how to block and stab. But Pan always said to use these techniques for emergencies only. “The one who falls off the hill first loses” Po said. Po started the attack with a vertical slice, easy enough to block. But I did not expect his next attack to come so quick. Next thing I knew, I was being hit from all sides by a sword that was moving quicker than I could think. Out of nowhere I see a dirty foot heading straight for me. It was Po’s! It hit me and sent me rolling down the hill. “Hey! No kicks!” I yell. “I doubt the wielder of Li will mind if you use a few kicks. I win boy! I guess we start training now! First, run up and down the hill forty times. Don’t want you to get fat like me!” Po said.

Jin

Hiking down the snowy mountains of Ko, I heard a large ruckus. Don’t I ever get a break? I took out Li to see a poor boy being bullied by four rich boys. “Hey you! You tried to take fruit from my yard!” the fat boy said. The poor boy was thin and frail. “Please guys. I was so hungry. My parents just died. I’ll leave you guys alone!” the boy said. “Too late peasant. You want to eat? Eat some dirt!” the fat boy said. The four rich boys started stuffing dirt into the poor boys mouth. Outrageous anger in my heart. Four swift moves later, all but the poor boy and I were dead. I handed an apple to the poor boy and headed to the village these boys lived in.

Hong

“Impressive slice!” Po said. I had been practicing the vertical slice with my wooden sword for hours. My legs were aching from the uncomfortable position. “Po, can I please reposition my legs? It feels as if I am carrying a mountain boar!” I exclaimed. Po just laughed and put my legs into an even more uncomfortable position.

Jin

I headed into the village as casually as I always do. As I was about to unsheathe Li, I overheard a man talking about a survivor from Ba. I had not let anyone survive Ba! I grabbed the man by the shirt and yelled, “Impossible! Everyone in Ba is dead!” The man smiled and shook his head. “There is one survivor! I hear he vows to kill the man who destroyed Ba!” the man said. I let go of the man. “Who is this survivor? What is his name?” I asked. “His name is Hong, and he vowed that he would kill the owner of the black sword with his white sword!” The man said. “Oh. I think I know the owner of the black sword” I said. I then beheaded the man as I released the souls of the thirteen spirits unto the village.

Hong

I rolled down the hill after Po’s impressive haymaker. “Ha! Seems you need a little more training!” Po yelled. Suddenly, I saw Xiao running up the hill with a wooden sword. “Ready for my lesson sir!” Xiao said. Po grimaced, and then said “fine, since you pluck my rice every morning, I guess Hong can teach you a few basic moves”. I walked to Xiao. He was shaking with excitement. “Ok Xiao, take this stance” I told Xiao.

Xiao

“Ok Xiao, take this stance” Hong told me. I recreated his stance as best I could. Hong corrected my stance a little and said to try a vertical slice. “Rule one, never forget what your sword can do”. Hong sliced clean through a watermelon with his wooden sword. We trained together for a few hours until lunchtime. “I’m hungry” I said. “Ok, we can take a break. I’ll take you out to the village so we can get some food.” Hong said. The village of Ja was filled with street vendors and beggars. We came to a small vendor and bought some noodles. Then we sat down at a table to eat. “I’m sorry about your home Hong” I said. “I am too” Hong said. “What are you going to do after you’ve… beaten the owner of the black sword?” I asked. “I haven’t really thought of that. Ever since he killed Pan, all my thoughts have been on the moment when I kill him” Hong replied. “You should stay here then! We can train together and get noodles every day!” I said. Hong smiled and said “I’d like that Xiao. Sounds like a plan”.

Jin

I met the poor boy again outside the village. “I have nowhere to go, can I please go with you?” the boy said. “Ok, on one condition. You kill whoever I ask, whenever I ask.” I replied. The boy nodded. “What’s your name kid?” I asked. “Aku” the boy replied. “Aku, you are going to need a sword, here take this sword I got from a man in Ba” I said. I handed him the green sword. “Let me teach you how to use that” I told him.

Aku

Jin is a great swordsman. He taught me how to fight with the sword the way I’ve seen samurai’s fight. It’s so impressive to see his sword chop down anything it comes in contact with. He took me to a small village near the ocean and we slaughtered every living thing in it. When I’m with him I never have to go hungry. I’ll always be with him.

Hong

“Hello Hong, take today off, I’m going out to the village of Sei” Po said. Then a familiar pretty young girl burst into the room. She had black hair and wore the garments of a farmer. “Di? Hello! You remember Hong. You guys were friends a long time ago!” Po said. I bowed to the girl. Unfortunately, we bowed at the same time and bashed our heads together. After laughing for what had to have been an hour, Po said “I’ve got an idea! How about you two go into the village and get something to eat! Go!” Po then forcefully pushed us out of the shack. We then headed to the village in search of food.

Xiao

Since Po was off on an errand and Hong spent the whole day with Di, I did what I never did. I met with my friends in the village. We played for hours. We were playing tag as I saw Po walking into the village. He fell onto the ground. I ran to Po. He was bloody from head to toe and was clutching his blue sword near to his chest. “Xiao… I need you to tell Hong he must take Sui” Po said. “I faced the man with the black sword and lost, he is ineffably powerful. But Xiao, you must face his apprentice. His apprentice wields the red sword of Pan. If you are to stand any chance against him, you must have a strong sword of your own. Take my blue sword. Face him as Hong must face the wielder of the Li.” Po said. He then held out the blue sword to me and I took it. “Unsheathe it, I know you are worthy” Po said. I slowly unsheathed the sword and held it out towards the sky. “It has the ability to manipulate small bodies of water. Xiao, tell my wife I love her. Thank you for plucking my fields. You are worthy of the sword of Po” Po said with his last dying breath.

Jin

That man was a formidable opponent.  In fact, probably the only true threat I have ever faced. His blue sword actually made me fear losing. But ultimately I never lose. Li was too swift for his blue sword. It was a great long fight. I admire him for being able to hold his own against me for so long. Maybe there are more like him in his village. I followed him to his village with Aku. He gave his sword to another small boy. Finally I can test the skills of Aku. He has been a loyal servant thus far.

Hong

After Po forced us out of his shack, we had been catching up with each other at one of the restaurants in the village. Di was my love interest as a child. She hasn’t changed at all since I left Ja, it’s almost as if I had never left Ja. “I never really knew Pan, when he visited Ja he never talked to me, tell me about him” Di said. “He was a good man. He taught me never to steal, kill, or even hate” I said. “I heard he died, I’m sorry Hong” Di replied. “I’ve sworn to avenge his death with my father’s sword. Once I do that I will be at peace” I said. “But Pan taught you never to kill or hate! This is the very thing he tried to teach you not to do!” Di said. “It’s something I must do, I loved Pan” I said. “You’re going to get yourself killed. After I got you back, I’m not going to let that happen” Di said. Then, Xiao ran to our table and said “Hong, Po is dead”.

Xiao

It was nighttime when I explained to Hong that the wielder of the black sword killed Po and that it was time for him to take Sui. “Don’t do this Hong, violence never solves anything” Di said.

Hong

We headed back to Po’s hut to meet Mei weeping. I grabbed Sui and turned to leave, but Mei grabbed my shoulder. “I have to give you something that’s yours” she said. She handed me a suit of samurai armor. “I made this for you after you arrived, Hong, kill him. Take Sui and kill him”. With that I left the hut and heard screams. We ran to the village and saw a man turned around. In his hand was a long black sword.

Jin

Around us are huts filled with families that stare anxiously at me and my rival waiting for the first attack. Lanterns lace the brick streets. I’ve always wanted to have a duel at night, especially against the wielder of the white sword. “Hong! We finally meet, I am Jin” I say as I turn around. “So you escaped Ba! Congratulations. I cannot guarantee you will escape Ja. In fact, I am sure you won’t” I say. “You’ve killed Po and Pan, now I will kill you” Hong says to me. I start laughing uncontrollably. “You wield the sword of life and wish for my death! That should be my line!” I say. “I like you Hong, you are like me. We both were poor, both wield powerful swords, and both hate life. Instead of fighting me, you should help me. Help me rid this world of life. Life with its ever-present noise. Constantly ridding the world of peace. Death is peace, Hong. Join me and we can make the world a peaceful place”. Then Hong unsheathes his white sword and gets in a classic samurai stance. How unwise he is. I then release my fourteen spirits to kill his friends. But as I release my spirits he summons something. Flying here from the sky was a… Dragon! Maybe this boy will actually prove to be a challenge. My fourteen spirits engage the dragon in a fight while I get into my stance and ready myself to fight Hong.

Hong

He’s standing right in front of me, waiting for my first move. Well let’s see his sword of death can block this jumping vertical slice!

Jin

I sidestep Hong’s slice. Then I counter with a horizontal slice to his face.

Hong

I block Jin’s attack and kick him straight to the chest. Got him.

Jin

He actually hit me! I’ve never been hit before! What is Aku waiting for? “Aku! Engage the other boy!” I yell.

Xiao

I take out my blue sword and watch as this Aku takes out his green one. Our swords collide and our fight begins.

Aku

With the power of the green sword I hurl rocks straight at this Xiao.

Xiao

I block the rocks sent at me with a wall of water and ready myself for the next attack.

Aku

I start my slashing assault unto Xiao

Jin

Hong and I slice at the same time putting us at a stalemate with both of our swords diagonal and opposite to each other. Suddenly when both of our swords collide, they both start to glow. Hong’s white sword starts to glow white light, as mine spreads darkness around its immediate vicinity. “You’re a great swordsman. Just like that man with the blue sword I killed earlier. But you’re not as fat” I say. “Wielder of the sword of life, you fight for death. Everything you know and think about has to do with death. Fight for the dead, wish me dead, that is all you know. You would think that the wielder of the sword of life would at least have some regard for life! You don’t deserve that sword and for that you should be glad”.

Hong

“I don’t fight for the dead anymore, I did. At first I wanted to kill you for killing those I care about. But now I’ve finally seen life” I say. I look at Di, Xiao, and Mei. Then I look back into the eyes of Jin. “I have finally experienced what it is to love and care about someone. I realize now that that is what life is about. I fight to prevent you from ending this love and care. I fight to save those that I love. I fight to keep others from having to fight for those that they love. It isn’t about me anymore. Life is about being able to care about people. For you to kill the people of this village goes against everything that I stand for. But, you’re right, I don’t deserve this sword. But as long as I wield it, I will do anything to oppose you” I say.

Jin

“Life is about caring about people? You were poor once! If people cared about us, then why did we go hungry every night! Why weren’t my parents attended to when they were obviously dying!? What benefits do people contribute to the larger scheme of the universe? They only act as detriment to the peace and quiet of nature. I fight to stop your precious living beings from destroying the natural beauty of our world. If you really believe that the universe is better off with life in it, you are insane. Oppose me then. Hong versus Jin. Life versus Death.”  I say as I break the stale mate and reengage with Hong.

Di

Tears pour down my face as I hear Hong face Jin. He finally realized what Life is. Jin does not understand that Hong has finally made his conclusion of life, and that no argument will sway him. But does that mean that for Hong to protect life he must take one? That is his decision. As the fight between these swordsmen occurs, the fourteen spirits manage to kill the dragon. But one spirit wasn’t fighting. This spirit in particular is very familiar to me. I’m sure I have seen him before. He is fat, bearded, and… he is Po.

Aku

Pathetic. Even with the simplest of attacks I am defeating this boy. I’m so used to being the one being beaten. I am now the beater. If I am beating this boy so easily, then I can probably beat Jin too! I never needed him! Yes! After this I will kill Jin! But for now, I must kill this talentless pest.

Xiao

Aku’s sword is coming at me faster than I can block. I didn’t get enough training for this fight. It is obvious Aku is a better swordsman than me. But, it seems as if he has forgotten that his sword has the ability to control rocks. I haven’t forgotten that my sword can control the water.  Maybe this is my edge. It is my only chance against him.

Hong

I can’t comprehend the level that Jin fights at. It’s as if he was taught by the gods themselves. Dueling face to face, never moving our feet, both hands on our swords, always looking into his eyes.

Xiao

I opt to run away from Aku instead of fight him. His sword skills are far too much for me. But I do have a plan. I will control the river and fight him with that. We run up to the river with him following me. “Stop, there’s nowhere left to run” Aku tells me. He raises his sword at me to strike, but I send a huge wave of water straight at him. Knocking him off his feet and taking his sword away from him. I run to him and punch him square in the jaw. To finish off the job, I spit on him. “Rule one, never forget what your sword can do” I say.

Di

I approach the ghost with Mei, “Po? Is that you?” Mei asks. “Yes and no. Since Jin killed innocent souls, he created me. I appear in the image of Po, the man you know. But I am all the men and women of Ba, Ko and all the other villages he destroyed. With all these souls, I am a god. Mei, come with me to the heavens. I am in need of a love, for eternity is a long time to spend alone” the god said. “Of course Po, of course” Mei said. With a beam of glowing green and blue light the god destroys all the evil thirteen spirits of Li. “Di, tell Hong I am very proud of his choice” the god says. Then the two lovers headed to the heavens with all their worries dissolved. I turned my attention to my lover, who still had plenty of worries to face.

Hong

Jin attacks me with a horizontal slice, which I block with Sui. Then I hit him with the hilt of my sword. He falls onto the ground and his long black sword falls out of his hand. I put my sword to his neck. “The universe is only beautiful when life is in it” I say. “Life detracts from the beauty, it keeps the universe from reaching its full potential” Jin counters. “That is true, but without life, there would be none to experience the beauty of the universe. Then all this beauty would be wasted. And you fail to understand what the beauty of the universe is. It isn’t the blue sky or the vast oceans, it is being able to experience them with those you love. That is life” I say. “What have I done? Kill me, Hong, end me. There is no life for me to live” Jin says. “No, you must experience these beauties. But most importantly, you must find someone to love. Make friends, meet a girl, or buy a dog I don’t care. Live life” I say. I then help Jin up. I turn to look at Di. I walk to her and hold her hand. “You did it. Pan would be… is proud. I am too” She says. Then Xiao runs up to us dragging an unconscious and wet Aku. “We won!” Xiao yells. I turn to Jin. He gets up. “You know what? I can’t take care of the fields all by myself. It takes two to manage the fields. How about a business partnership?” I say to him. “You’re giving me ownership to Po’s farm?” Jin exclaims. I put my hand on his shoulder and look at Xiao and Aku. “Even with Jin’s help, I think I will need to strong boys to pluck rice!” the smiles on their faces tell it all. Finally I look at Di. “Well I need someone to experience the beauties of the universe with, and you’re the nearest person to me, so maybe…” I say. I look to see Di just smile and nod. Never have I known wealth, abundance, or my parents. But I do know life.  Life is beauty.  Life is happiness. Life is love.

Jin

It’s been ten years since I was given ownership of this farm. Xiao and Aku have become the best of friends, both now teenagers, they use their swords to stop the bandits of nearby villages. Aku still is the superior swordsman, but Xiao utilizes the ability of his sword to be the superior warrior. They are the heroes of Japan and will be honored by the presence of the Emperor. Hong has proposed to Di and they are getting ready for their wedding. As for me, I’m leaving the farm. I’m going to apologize to each and every living family member of my victims. I still have a gnawing urge to end the noise of the world. The commotion and unrest of people sickens me. I have finally realized that this noise is lament. I realize now that to end this unholy noise, I must console these people. Console these people so they can continue their life. Never have I known wealth, abundance, or my parents. But I do know life.  Life is beauty.  Life is happiness. Life is love. On the way, maybe I can meet make a life of my own.
