It was the 3rd of October when I seen her first. In hand was my lunch as I headed towards the coal mine.I rounded the corner and up in an apartment window I saw her.she came to the window as if she was floating.I only caught a glimpse of her.Of what I could see,she had long brown hair and a soft complexion.she had a sad expression apon her gentle face.it was hard to see her eyes do to her head looking down.I troubled me to see such a beautiful being un such a meloncholy state. As fast as she had appeared, she vanished.I waited for her to reappear but left when the work whistle blew.I thought of her the whole time I was in the mine shaft.I wanted to talk to her.I wanted to express how she made me feel.as soon as the work whistle blew I headed back towards my work shack.I tried not to rush or seem to eager but I had to see her face.I looked but did not see her beautiful face.

A week passed, and I stopped to see her everyday.I seen her everyday at the same time except for Thursday.I became flustered.why wont she stop?why cant I call out to her?Four days had passed and the same result.I worked up enough courage to go up and talk to her.I walked through the the appartment door.I walked up three flights of stairs and counted the doors.C3.I paused...I had never been this nervous.my palms were sweaty.I knocked on the door with three firm raps.two full minutes passed and no answer.I knocked again.I called for her....no answer.I had to wipe my hands on my pants to turn the door knob.I opened it slowly calling out once more...

The room was empty other than a cluttered typewriter desk in the corner.the walls were dirty and the floors were bare.my eyes finally fell apon hers.the rings under her eyes showed signs of restlessness.her hair was long and soft.she was even more beautiful than before.I stopped and watched her circle the room very very slowly.my eyes stung as I walked slowly towards her.
"Why wont you look at me?" I sobbed.
"You are very beautiful".
I wrapped my arms around her waist.I lifted her up and held her in my arms.I pulled the rope off of the ceiling fan and laid her cold body apon the floor...
