Be Safe

You’re going off to boot

And I’m scared to lose you

You’re my big brother

I’m your little sister

You wanted to give me your knife

I got scared

I refused it

I regret it

We’re far apart now

Farther than we’ve ever been

But I hold you close to my heart

Closer now than ever

Tears brim my eyes

As I know you’re leaving

250 miles now separate us

I wish you wouldn’t go

You’re training for war

To save the lives around you

I’m left here to wait

For you to come home

I wait for your return

Be in the meant time

I want to tell you

Be Safe

I know it’s a lot to ask

It may not be even possible

But in everything you do

Be Safe

I wait for your return

Safe and sound at home

But if God calls you home

I want you to know…

I love you big brother

I’ll be safe in everything I do

You’ll have a spot on my back

To remind me to always….

Be Safe
