They Were Children

Precious lives now lost

How could someone take them?

They were just children

Why did you take them?

Something I'll never understand

Take a child's life is one

Maybe I don't want to know

Maybe I don't want to understand

Parents should never have to bury a child.

How could someone take them?

It isn't their job.

Why did you take them?

I feel wrong yet right

To say that you deserve to die

But instead you should be jailed

And I'll let God take care of you.

Precious young lives lost

How could someone take them?

They were just children

How could you take them?
