A hymn to the Sun

O eternal light of the eastern sky,
You shine over the mountains high,
Over the rivers, oceans and streams
Over the loneliest desert, your aura gleams...

O bringer of dawn, giver of light on earth,
Bringer of delight to my sleeping heart,
You are the eye of the universe whole,
The light of the heavens, brightest cosmic soul...
O Sun, O glorious, gracious Sun,
You, by whose might, evil shadows run
Away for you, be adored by us all
Throught summer, winter, rains and fall...
O Sun, my lord, my creator divine,
May you shine over the oceans of brine,
Over forests and hills, over clouds and storm,
Forever with your might, in your brightest form...
O Sun, whose light protects us from dismay,
Like a father, you guide us on our way,
Be adored by us, be adored O Lord!
Forever we worship you, O eye of God!
