Sheen

Poem by: Howlingwolf214

Summary

First of two poems I wrote in school, instead of say, doing work.

This one means inspiration to me, but you can take it to mean whatever.

What do you see,
When you look out the window?

Perhaps you see past the green
Leaves dancing in the wind’s song
Through the window’s hazy sheen
To world’s far beyond.

Maybe you see things we cannot,
An idea chasing a dream,
A wild tale ending in a single dot
As you pause to take a breath.

What strange things do you see?
A glimpse of reality, perhaps,
Or a tale as mad as she
Who fell down the Rabbit’s hole.

What stories do you spy
Lurking behind a sheet of glass
Which others call a lie,
The inner workings of your mind.

In the end, you turn,
Pen in hand, to write,
So others may learn
Where you travelled today.
