So I'm a HUGE Glee fan and adore Sam and Quinn together aka Quam. SO I was thinking I could write a fan fan-fiction about them Yeah I know there are other websites for fan-fictions, but I thought I'd write it on Booksie. Plus I'm too lazy. Please no rude comments! I love this couple together! Just BTW this takes place throughout Season 2 so some spoilers. Mostly towards the end, somewhere around Nationals. Thanks guys!!

NOTE: I DON NOT ON GLEE AND THE CHARACTERS. JUST USING THE PLOT LINES AND CHARACTERS TO CREATE MY OWN STORY.

One Day You’ll Know…
Summary: Just about my predictions for Sam and Quinn in the future. Probably around Nationals. There are some flash backs throughout the story. Spoilers as well. NOTE: I DON NOT OWN GLEE!
She missed him, and he missed her. Ever since the break-up her heart ached more and more each day. She couldn't stand the sight of him kissing, or as a matter of fact even touching Santana. She would always turn her head abruptly so she wouldn’t see anything. Nothing what so ever. She didn't know if Sam felt the same way about her as she did for him, but she had hope. Not a whole lot, but some. Even just a simple sign of a smile or a touch on the hand would do. She remembers the first time they sang a duet together, always treasuring the memories they've had. She holds on to them. Not in a photo album, but in her heart. The heart that is already breaking, slowly piece by piece, inch by inch, day by day.
They were in the Science classroom surrounded by planets, from Mercury to Pluto. Sam looks into her eyes and asks her for her hand. She gives him a look, not one of those death stares, but an uncertain look. She wasn't quite sure if he was planning on making a move on her, or if he just wanted to sing with her. She looks into his brilliant blue eyes searching for some sign. He gives her a small smile and once again asks for her hand. She slowly extends her arm out to him, and he lightly touches it. His skin feels so smooth on hers, and it makes her heart race, just touching him. He places her fingers on the strings of his guitar, and strums some notes. She still had a pit in her stomach from her previous year at McKinley. She was in pieces when her reputation dropped, and this year was all about being on top. She promised herself not to get involved with any other guy, and focus on her cheerleading skills, and working her way up the ranks. These thoughts slowly come back to her as he moves her fingers across the wire strings. She feels like she should totally be ignoring him, she doesn't need him, but something about his eyes and his touch make her so happy and secure. He then quietly hums a few notes before slowly leaning down to kiss her. Quinn, taken aback jerks away from him, inches before his lips meet hers. She backs away and grabs her stuff.
“I can't do this. This year is all about me. I don't need you right now." Sam blushes and tries to apologize. Quinn doesn't let him speak before she runs out of the room.
At her locker, she brings her fingers up to her lips, a smile growing on her face, of where he almost kissed her. They had so much chemistry, and she ruined it all. It was her fault and she had to suffer the consequences. The most important one: not being with Sam. The cutest guy at McKinley who loved her, and cared about her. Slowly tears run down her eyes as she keeps on thinking about him. Finn walks up to her minutes later wearing his football jacket over his favorite shirt.
“Hey, so we’re still on for Friday night right?” he asks. Oh my god! Friday night! She screams in her head. Prom!
“Um, yeah. Why wouldn’t we be?” Quinn now remembers everything coming back to Earth from “lovey-dovey” land. She had chosen to go to prom with Finn because a) she wanted the crown so bad, and since he had led the McKinley Titians to victory in the most important game, he would be getting thousands of votes and b) Sam was already taken. She would’ve done ANYTHING to go with him. ANYTHING! Finn gives her a puzzled expression and leans down to kiss her.
“Cool. Can’t wait. We’re going to win for sure, since you’re my Prom Queen.” He smiles his toothy grin at her and brushes his lips against hers. Quinn didn’t feel the spark she had, when she and Sam kissed. Her heart would fly away, and an adrenaline would shoot through her body. It was always PERFECT. But when Finn kissed her, nothing. Finn slung his backpack over his shoulder and squeezed her hand.
“See you in glee club.” He walked away meeting up with Rachel. She saw him and Rachel laugh and exchange smiles. He totally likes her, so why does he even bother stay with me? she thought. Cracking the combo to her locker, she exchanges textbooks, and grabs her binder for glee club. It’s covered in Quinn <3 Sam and hearts with his name inside. Even if they weren’t together she could still dream couldn’t she? Sam walked over seconds later, looking adorable as usual. Santana was such a lucky girl. Then again, she used to be the “lucky one”. He was wearing washed jeans, and his hair was messy, covering his eyes. She leans against her locker as he approaches her.
“Hey.” he says. His voice was warm, and soft. He smiled with his eyes and glanced at her binder. Quinn brought her eyes to where he was looking and covered up her binder with her chest.
“Oh yeah. Sorry.” she replies, so embarrassed. Sam gives a little chuckle and leans his arm against the wall.
“So, do you have any plans for Prom?” he asked. Oh my god! Is he going to ask me? What should I say? After all I’m going with Finn aren’t I?
“Oh um, not really.” She felt hot and pretends to scratch her arm, hoping that Sam wouldn’t catch her lie. She tries her hardest to look away from his gaze, but it doesn’t work. Her eyes always come back to his. She missed him so much! His eyes said everything he was thinking. Even without speaking, she and Sam exchanged thoughts. Special thoughts. He didn’t seem to hate her, that’s good. At least he wasn’t mad at her anymore for kissing Finn. She was being stupid and immature when she kissed him. She had no idea the consequences would be this big. He leans closer to her, so she can feel his breath on her skin. Butterflies begin in her stomach and goose bumps crawl up her arm. He was about to kiss her, and she was about to kiss him back until she saw Finn look at her across the hallway before entering the glee club room. Without warning, she runs after him leaving Sam alone. Regretting not being able to kiss him.
All the glee club members are seated, waiting for Mr. Schue. Mike and Tina side by side, Artie and Brittany huddling together, whispering softly. It looked like everyone was so happy, well except for Quinn. She notices that Santana is by herself. That’s odd she thought. Aren’t Sam and Santana together? She spots Finn sitting next to Rachel and walks over to him. He gives her a stony glare and crosses his arms, obviously ignoring her. She quietly takes a seat behind him and opens up her binder. Glee assignmentshe writes in her pretty cursive hand writing. Mr. Schue walks in seconds later, followed by Sam. Sam glances around for an empty seat before meeting Quinn’s eyes. God, she couldn’t stop looking at him! He scurries over and takes the seat next to her, nudging her arm. She turns towards him and smiles. He smiles back before Mr. Schuester starts talking.
“Ok class. This week’s assignment, to find an artist you enjoy and express your feelings through their song. Think about what the lyrics really mean, and how you interpret them. Be creative. I’m looking forward to hearing your choices.”
Quinn raises her hand.
“Um Mr. Schue…” He turns towards her.
“Yes Quinn.”
“I have a song. It’s not really prepared, but it expresses my feelings right now.” A broad smile crosses his face.
“Great. Whenever you’re ready, show us what you’ve got.” She walks to the front of the room, in her summery dress, cardigan and flats. She takes the mic and whispers something to the pianist.
“Um, I’m going to sing Mine by Taylor Swift. This song expresses how I feel towards a certain someone…” Without making eye-contact with anyone, so she doesn’t give away anything, she starts the song, slow and soft. Her voice is barely audible, and the glee kids struggle to hear her. Only Sam could hear her clearly. He watches her the whole time, how she holds the microphone, her movements, her expressions. He realizes that he belongs with her. He wanted to get her back. She was at the second verse, before she looked at him.
Flash forward and we’re taking on the world together,
And there’s a drawer of my things at your place.
You learn my secrets and you figure out why I’m guarded,
You say we’ll never make my parents’ mistakes.

But we got bills to pay,
We got nothing figured out,
When it was hard to take,
Yes, yes, this is what I thought about.

Do you remember, we were sitting there, by the water?
You put your arm around me for the first time
You made a rebel of a careless man’s careful daughter
You are the best thing that’s ever been mine.

Do you remember all the city lights on the water?
You saw me start to believe for the first time
You made a rebel of a careless man’s careful daughter
You are the best thing that’s ever been mine.

Oh, oh, oh
When she stopped singing, everybody clapped and stood up.
“Great Quinn. Your voice is beautiful and I loved the song selection.” She gives him a small nod and a smile and returns to her seat. Finn glances at her and takes her hand in his.
“I loved it Quinn.” She hesitantly strokes his hand before looking at Sam. Oh god, Finn thinks I sang that to him she thinks to herself. Deep inside she was nervous. If Finn thought she was singing that song to him then he’d want to stay with her and she wouldn’t be able to get another chance with Sam. Sam smiles, swiping his bangs out of his eyes, SO CUTE, and mouths ‘good job.’ She gazes back at him and turns towards the front of the club.
“So anybody else? Quinn got us started with an outstanding performance.” Sam stands up and grabs his guitar near the drum set.
“Mr. Schue can I sing a song too? Like Quinn’s, mine isn’t perfected but it’s good enough.” Everyone smiles at him. Quinn senses that he seems scared and uncomfortable.
“Yes, of course. Go right ahead.”Sam strums a chord or two on his guitar before announcing his selection.
“So I’ll be singing Love Me by Justin Bieber. Trust me I don’t like him, but the lyrics really summarize everything I feel. Since I don’t have the guts to say everything out loud to her, I’ll say it through a song. All the girls glance at one another, hoping Sam is singing his song to them, before their eyes all land on Quinn, who’s fiddling around with her pen. Finn looks over at her too and sees her fidgeting.
“Is everything ok?” She looks directly into his, plain, brown eyes. SO BORING!
“Yeah, I’m just spacey today.” He takes that as an answer and focuses all of his attention on Sam, narrowing his eyes on the blonde. Sam hums quietly.

My friends say I'm a fool to think that you're the one for me
I guess I'm just a sucker for love
'Cause honestly the truth is that you know I'm never leavin'
'Cause you're my angel sent from above

Baby, you can do no wrong
My money is yours, give you a little more because I love ya, love ya
With me, girl, is where you belong
Just stay right here, I promise my dear I'll put nothin' above ya, 'bove ya

Love me, love me, say that you love me
Fool me, fool me, oh how you do me
Kiss me, kiss me, say that you miss me
Tell me what I wanna hear, tell me you love me

Love me, love me, say that you love me
Fool me, fool me, oh how you do me
Kiss me, kiss me, say that you miss me
Tell me what I wanna hear, tell me you love me

People try to tell me, but I still refuse to listen
'Cause they don't get to spend time with you
A minute with you is worth more than a thousand days without your love
Oh your love, oh

My heart is blind, but I don't care
'Cause when I'm with you, everything has disappeared
And every time I hold you near
I never wanna let you go, oh

Love me, love me, say that you love me
Fool me, fool me, oh how you do me
Kiss me, kiss me, say that you miss me
Tell me what I wanna hear, tell me you love me

Love me, love me, say that you love me
Fool me, fool me, oh how you do me
Kiss me, kiss me, say that you miss me
Tell me what I wanna hear, tell me you love me
By the end of the song, all the girls are going wild, dancing to the beat. Quinn is still seated but she can’t help but smile. She feels like she’s floating in the clouds, she has that warm feeling in her stomach whenever Sam sings. Mr. Schue laughs and pats Sam on the back.
“Well done, very well done." Class dismisses seconds later, everyone scurrying to get to their after school activities. Quinn heads to her locker again so she can get her duffle bag, agenda and her take-home binders and textbooks. Finn looks up and down the hallway until he spots her at her locker.
“Hey…” he starts. Quinn knows he’s angry. She sees him scrunch up his nose and his face turns red. “Did you like Sam’s song today? I felt like he was singing it to you.” Quinn would’ve totally replied ‘I loved it!’ but given that Finn was right there, she shrugs.
“I guess it was ok. I mean I enjoyed it. JB is cool.” Finn looks for any signs of pleasure and comfort in Quinn’s body language but he receives nothing.
“Okay cool. Just wanted to know. But I mean why should I worry, after all you did sing “Mine” to me.” She rolls her eyes and slams her locker shut.
“Of course I did.” She escapes Finn and heads to the Cheerio’s locker room, finding it empty. She quickly pulls on her skirt, zipping it up lightly, and adjusts her top to rest slightly below her neck. She loved the outfit and wore it almost all the time. The WMHS bold letters on the uniform make it even better along with the eye catching red and white. She tugs on her sneakers, lacing them up slowly so she doesn’t trip before heading out to the field. Just as she arrives Coach Sylvester was calling out drills. She runs over while pulling her hair up in a high ponytail, a strict rule Coach had. No one’s hair should be left down!
“Hi Coach” she greets.
“Well hello Q. Glad you’re here.” Quinn always felt proud to hear Coach call her Q. She was head cheerleader once again and Coach Sylvester had a lot of trust in her. “Ok girls. Let’s get into the pyramid formation.” She shouts through her funnel like thing. All the girls rush to their spots and Quinn is lifted to the top.
“Hey Quinn!” she hears someone call just as she’s heading to the locker rooms. Indeed it was Sam. She rushes over to him.
“Oh hey!” she answers with a twinkle in her eye. He meets her and puts down his helmet on the torn up grass.
“Your song today…” he started looking into her eyes. “was great. I loved it. Is that really how you feel?” He knew it was addressed to him, not just by his history with her, but by Quinn’s rosy pink cheeks. Before she could answer, Finn spots them together and dashes over.
“Evans!” he shouts. “Back off man. You haven’t heard the rule: Stay away from the star quarterback’s girlfriend?” Since the whole who-kissed-who drama, Finn was way more protective of her. He didn’t want Sam to hurt her again.
“Like you’re the star quarterback.” Quinn mutters to herself. He shoots her a stern look as if to say leave this to me which hushes her.
“Chill Finn, we were just talking about glee that’s it. I wasn’t trying to hit on her…” “No matter how much I try.” Sam whispers seconds later. Quinn smiled at this and side-steps when Finn gets closer to her.
“What’d you just say?” he accused.
“Nothing. Look nothing happened. We were just catching up on things. That’s all. I was telling her how much I liked the song she sang in glee club today. Promise that’s it.” Finn looked uncertain.
“That’s all he said. Seriously.” Quinn added.
“But her song is none of your business. She sang it to me, not you!” Finn was by now furious and grabbed Quinn’s hand. She pulled it away from his grasp quickly before Sam shot him a comeback.
“So? I sang my song to her! And I think she should know that!!” Quinn was speechless before running off leaving Sam and Finn glaring at each other.
Quinn was so glad school was over for the day. She arrives home to an empty house and hops into the shower. She hums quietly to herself when the doorbell rings. “Leave me alone Finn!” she whispers to herself. With him acting more aggressive than ever, she had no intention to talk to him. She quickly dries off and slips into a sundress before running downstairs to answer the door. She looks through the peep hole and sees Sam standing outside in his favorite shirt, hands tucked into his pockets. He looks solemn and sad. She grabs the big brass handle and swings the door open.
“Hey” she says sweetly allowing him to walk inside. He gives her a smile but doesn’t say anything. “Is everything ok?” she asks referring to his parents. Ever since the bank took their house he and his siblings had to share a one-room motel room. His parents were rushing everywhere to find a job. He shook his head and falls onto her couch.
“Sorry, I hope you don’t mind my intrusion. No luck again.” he states with a deep, heavy sigh. She sits down next to him and rests her head on his shoulders while grabbing his hand in hers. His skin feels the way it felt a long time ago, smooth and soft. She intertwines her fingers with his and touches his face to meet her eyes.
“It’s fine. I know how you feel. You can trust me. I want to help you in any way possible.” Without hesitation she leans into him and brushes her lips against his savoring the moment. He tenses up for a second, but once he feels her hands in his hair, he loosens up and kisses her back. It was perfect, even though it didn’t last very long. She tried the best she could to take in all the features of him, before pulling away. She knew she wouldn’t have the opportunity to kiss him again anytime soon. After drifting apart, Sam tucks a strand of her hair behind her ear, so it’s out of her eyes, and helps her up. He wraps her in a hug.
“Sorry about today as well. I didn’t mean to get angry. He just pisses me off sometimes. You know I never meant to hurt you. I still love you in every way possible. If only he would let me explain.” She shushes him with one more light touch of her lips and takes his hand in hers.
“Let’s go for a walk. I need some fresh air.” Sam looks puzzled for a second, wondering if she wants him to go with her. “Yes, I want you to come with me” she teases rolling her eyes playfully. He opens the door for her and they walk into the cool afternoon, wind blowing and leaves falling. Quinn wraps her jacket around her body tighter, trying to keep in her body heat. They walk for a while in silence, but they both know what each other are thinking. They stop at a nearby park and he helps her sit down. A fountain spews water near them, getting both Quinn and Sam wet. They’re both quiet for a second before she mumbles something to him.
“I still love you too. I always have.” Sam smiles at this and drapes his arm over her shoulder lightly. “I miss you, but there’s no way we can get back together. Finn would kill you. Literally. He’s already mad at you for what you did to me.” He takes in a big breath.
“I didn’t mean to break up with you the way I did. You’re the most important thing to me Quinn. I love you with all my heart. I want us to be together.” He reaches into his pants pocket and pulls out a silver box and hands it to her.
“Here.” She takes it from him and opens it slowly, gasping.
“Oh Sam!” It was the same ring he had given her before the wedding. When he promised to love her and look out for her, to come over to her house when she needed something heavy moved around, when he said he cared about her and wanted them to be together. She had given it back after their break up never expecting to get it back.
“Why do you have this? Has it always been in your pocket?” He shrugs slightly, moving his arm.
“You really think I came here to talk to you about my situation? I came to get you back.” She blushes when he says this. “After your song, I realized my mistake was too big and regretted every second of it. I didn’t know what to do, but I thought I’d give it a try. It’s been on my dresser for a while now; I just haven’t had the guts to give it to you. Its place is by a picture of the two of us doing our duet at Sectionals.” A smile tugs on Quinn’s lips. She remembers singing (I’ve Had) the Time of My Life with Sam. It was a beautiful duet and they got a standing ovation at the end. They sounded so perfect together, their voices sounding like one, joining together in unison.
“Well, it’s just as beautiful as when you presented it to me for the first time” she whispers before slipping the ring on her finger gently. She looks into his eyes; hers filled with tears, and traces the shape of his jaw with her finger. “Thank you. I love you so much!” She presses her hands to his chest and kisses him passionately; deeper than usual. She feels his heart beat pick up and he groans softly. She digs her head into his chest and wraps his arms around her body, holding his embrace. “No one can know about us ok? At least not until I have the guts to end it with Finn.” He nods and kisses the top of her head.
“Anything for you.” She shows him her ringed hand which makes him smile. They stay in the park for a while, enjoying the moment while it lasts. Quinn’s phone vibrates in her purse and she notices a new text.
“Man” she groans showing the screen to Sam. Finn had texted her. He rolls his eyes, but still holds her tight. She ignores his text and puts her phone away.
“I better go” she says. He looks at her and nods.
“Yeah me too. Mom and dad want me to hang with Stacey and Stevie.” She rubs his arm with the pad of her thumb.
“Do you want me to come and help?” she asks. She often helped him watch his siblings while his parents looked for work. They were so little and precious. They obviously loved their brother very much, just like she did. He glanced at her out of the corner of his eye.
“Would you? That would be great. Stacey would love it. She adores you. You’re like her idol.” Stacey was seven and loved every second she could get with Quinn. They often played with her dolls and made cookies. Quinn loved Stacey’s smile whenever she laughed and her admiration towards her brother. A giant grin spread across her face.
“Yes of course! Anything so I can be with Stacey, and of course you.” She kissed him once more on the lips, before standing up and stretching. “Let me go home and change. I’ll be over at your place soon.” He grinned and squeezed her hand.
“Thanks. I love you.”
“Love you too.” They walked back to her house together and then parted. She quickly gathered her purse, phone, and other things to entertain Stacey before telling her mom she was heading out to go babysit.
“Okay sweetie” she said, walking through the arch that separated the kitchen and living room from each other, drying her hands on a dish towel. “How’s everything going with you guys?” She had been updated about the whole Quinn-Sam-Finn drama and helped Quinn through it. She shrugged not wanting to tell her every little detail that had just happened and walked out the front door. “Love you too” her mom called playfully.
“Bye mom!’
Quinn pulled up her Prius by Sam’s motel room. She gathered everything in her hands and knocked on the door quietly, being careful not to disturb any of the other rooms around her. She heard Stacey begging Sam to open the door before he swings the red door open. Stacey runs out and clutches Quinn’s legs.
“Quinn!!!!” she squeals. Quinn was surprised but picked her up and hugged her back.
“Hey there. How are you?” she asks in her soothing voice that Sam always liked. Stacey beams, glad that her “idol” had arrived, and led her inside.
“I’m great! Sam said you were coming. I’m so glad you’re here. So….what are we gonna do?” she asked jumping up and down on the bed. Quinn and Sam both watched and rolled their eyes at her.
“Yeah she’s a pain sometimes” he whispers in her ear, softly.
“Hey, at least she’s cute. Totally got that from you” she replied planting a kiss on his cheek. Having Quinn around made him feel proud and secure. He had gotten back the girl of his dreams. After a hard few months, he was glad they had sorted everything out. Now they could enjoy every minute with each other, without any awkwardness. He smiles before grabbing his coat off the hanger by the front door.
“So I’m working the late shift tonight. Could you possibly stay late to watch them? When I get home, you’re free to go.” Quinn smiled and nodded her head.
“I don’t mind at all. I love being around these guys.” Stevie was lying on the bed watching Star Wars, but glanced at Quinn and gave her a weak smile. He looked just like his brother. His hair was dirty blonde and he had a gorgeous shade of blue eyes.
“Cool. I’ll text you when I’m on the way home” he added before walking out the door. Quinn took Stacey by the hand and brought her to the couch, setting her canvas bag down, containing art supplies and cookie mix.”
“So I was thinking…” she started. “That you and me could make cookies.” Stacey looked excited. Her eyes were beaming, wide open.
“Yeah! Quinn and I are going to make cookies!! Is Stevie going to too?” Quinn glanced over at Stevie, whose eyes were glued to the TV.
“No, I think he’s enjoying himself” she teased. He stuck his tongue out playfully at her before yelling something. Quinn and Stacey both laughed before walking to the small kitchen. Stacey helped Quinn find everything, even though they had made cookies like 100 times, and started pouring the ingredients into a bowl. Quinn heard her phone ring from the other room and told Stacey she’d be back shortly. She brought the phone up to her ear without looking at the caller id. Right away, she knew it wasn’t who she was expecting.
“Hey” she rasped into the mouthpiece.
“Hey” she heard his cheerful voice bounce back. “So you never answered my text earlier. I wanted to see if you were okay.” She rolled her eyes and looked towards Stacey, who had flour all over her face and cheeks. SO CUTE she thought.
“Sorry, I’ve just been busy that’s all.”
“Oh?” He sounded surprised and she could tell he suspected something.
“No with school work Finn” she clarified. There was silence at the other end of the line for a few seconds before she heard Finn’s voice again.
“Cool, for a second I thought you meant you were hanging out with him.” She could tell he was angry, his voice stiffened and he was breathing heavier than usual.
“Yeah, no. I’ve been doing school work and cheerleading prep.” This was so awkward!!!
“So I was thinking, maybe we could hit the movies tonight?” She thought for a second, making sure Stacey was okay. She was fiddling around with cookie cutters. She gazed at one in the shape of a heart and motioned for Quinn to come over.
“Hey Finn, I’m busy tonight. I’m watching Sam’s siblings. I’ll talk to you later.” Before she could hear his response she had hung up and rushed over to Stacey’s side. “What is it?” she asked curiously.
“You should make this for Sammy” she said. Quinn thought how adorable it was that Stacey called her brother Sammy. She smiled just thinking about him.
“Oh really?” she questioned. “And why do you think I should make that for him?” She was eager to hear her response.
“Cause you and Sammy are in love! And hearts symbolize love don’t they?” Quinn smiled at this and grabbed Stacey by the hips pulling her to the ground.
“Stacey you’re the cutest thing ever” she exclaimed, “but your brother and I don’t have feelings for each other. We’re just really good friends that’s all.” She looked confused for a second.
“But you kissed him. I saw you. You’re lips went mowah!” She imitated the way Quinn “supposedly” kissed him. She laughed softly and looked back at her.
“Oh Stacey. What am I going to do with you?” Stacey grinned and then started to talk again.
“Okay, so even if you don’t love him, he loves you. Quinn, he can’t stop talking about you! It’s so annoying!” Stacey bursts. “He’s like Quinn this and Quinn that…” Quinn couldn’t believe a seven year old was telling her about her brother’s feelings for her. She laughed quietly to herself while Stacey kept on going on and on. She finally had to quiet her down.
“So has he always talked about me?” she asked. Stacey nods before getting up to go back to her cookies.
“Yep, all the time. Sammy loves you. He says you were his first girlfriend. He was so sad when you cheated on him whatever that means.” Stacey explained rolling her eyes taking no interest in the subject what so ever. Quinn couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Sam had truly loved her. He had never meant any of the harm he had caused. Quinn picked up the heart shaped cookie cutter and handed it to Stacey.
“Okay I’ll make a deal with you. I’ll make Sam one if you make him one too.” Stacey’s chubby cheeks turned into a grin.
Really? Really? Really?? You will??” she asks anxiously. Quinn bobs her head and kisses Stacey on the cheek.
“I wish you were my sister Stace. You’re so adorable.” She picked her up and twirled her around. They finished up making the cookies and placed them in the oven to cook. It was by now 9:30 and Stacey looked tired. She flopped on the bed next to Stevie, who was slowly drifting asleep, and closed her eyes. Quinn carefully slipped on Stacey’s Barbie PJs and tucked her in.
“Good night Stace. Had fun with you tonight. Your brother will be back soon.” She sleepily turned her head to Quinn and smiled.
“Good night Quinn. Make sure to show Sammy our cookies.”
“I will” she whispered back. Once Stacey and Stevie were both settled she crashed on the couch by the kitchen, phone clutched in her hand. It was now time to break the news to Finn. Her phone rapidly vibrated in her hand seconds later. She smiled when she saw the name appear on her screen.
Done with my shift.I’m on my way home
She slid open the keyboard and texted him back.
Kay. S&S are settled. See you soon. <3
“Hello?” Quinn heard a faint voice after she woke up from sleeping. She was sprawled on the couch, only a little light casting on her face from the glow of the TV. She had been watching American Idol right before Sam arrived home. He spotted her on the couch and walked over, setting his car keys on the counter.
“Sorry. My car was acting up. Thank god I made it home in one piece” he explained. Quinn sleepily murmured something to him before getting up. She yawned and pulled him into a hug.
“Missed you tonight. Your sister wouldn’t stop going on and on about us” she stated. Sam brushed her hair with his hand before looking at her.
“What? Stacey?” Quinn nodded and led him to the couch. He sat down before she cuddled up next to him their fingers intertwined. She rested her head on his chest and breathed in slowly. He was rubbing her arm with his thumb and kissed her head.
“Yeah. She told me about how you loved me after our break up and how I was your first girlfriend and stuff.” Sam covered his face and chuckled to himself. He was hoping the room was dark enough so that Quinn wouldn’t be able to see the embarrassment on his face.
“Oh god really? Stacey’s a talker, but all the things she said weren’t true.” Quinn shifted to look up at him. He looked innocent, but she knew deep down he did feel that way about her. She kept on looking at him until he gave in. “Okay fine. Yes all that is true. I just can’t believe she remembered that much.” Quinn turned her head back to its original position, resting on his chest. She sighed.
“Whatever. I’m glad she told me though.” He smiled at this and brought her hand that held the ring he gave her to his heart so she could feel how fast his heart was beating.
“You’re what keeps my heart beating. If you didn’t exist I’d be lost.” She was silent for a second before gazing up at him admiringly.
“I’m glad” she whispered before pressing her lips to his. She draws her hand up to his cheek and holds it there. They kiss for a somewhat long time, remembering their history, before Stacey moans from the other room. Sam gets up to go see her while Quinn gets the cookies she and Stacey had baked.
“Sammy, I had a bad dream” she wails. Sam rested his hand on her face and kissed her good night.
“You’re fine Stace. Quinn and I are here if you need us.” Stacey looked surprised.
“She’s still here? When is she going?” Sam ignored his sister and pulled the covers over her.
“Good night Stacey.” He gets up after he sees her drift back off to sleep and finds Quinn settled on the coach.
“Is she okay?” He nods and plants himself next to her. He sees the cookies sitting on the table and reaches for one in the shape of a heart that says “We Belong Together”. He looks at Quinn and she nods.
“Yes, I made that one for you. Stacey made me.” He shakes his head in disapproval.
“Don’t blame my sister for expressing your feelings.” She rolls her eyes at him and punches him lightly in the ribs.
“Ow!” he softly mumbles, but she knows he was teasing.
“Man up” she said before pulling the blanket over them. Sam reaches for the remote control and switches on Avatar, his all time favorite movie. Quinn sighs and lets him drape his arm over her body. They stay put for the rest of the night enjoying each other’s company, before facing McKinley the next day.
As Quinn is opening her locker, Santana, the second head bitch of the school the first being Quinn, although she’s gotten better since being with Sam, comes up to her.
“So Q. I hear you and Trouty Mouth got it on last night.” Santana smirked. She was always looking for a way to humiliate her ever since she took her reigning position as head cheerleader and bumped her to the bottom of the heap. She rolls her eyes and grabs her binder and textbooks before shutting her locker door closed.
“Santana...” she growls. “It’s none of your business.” Quinn pushes her out of the way just as Finn walks up to her.
“Fine, fine” the Latina replies “but I thought I’d tell you there are a bunch of rumors going on that are notpretty.” She dramatically rolls her eyes and walks off to flirt with Puck. God what would McKinley be without her? she thinks. Finn is walking beside her, in synch with her stride.
“Yes? Can I help you?” Quinn snaps at him. She didn’t mean to sound that mean. He looks at her trying to make eye contact, but she turns away.
“Um what was Santana talking about?” She groans as she heads into the glee club room, where almost everybody is seated. She spots Sam and a smile grows on her face flashing her white teeth towards him.
“It was nothing Finn. Promise. As I said before, I was watching his siblings for him.” He rolls his eyes.
“Sure Quinn! Every time I try to talk to you, you’re always hanging around him. What? Is he better than me?” She looks at him angrily before turning and walking off to take a seat next to Sam. Finn turns in the other direction and greets Rachel, who beams up at him.
“Wow…jerk much?” Sam mutters to himself as Quinn takes the seat next to him. She catches his phrase and looks at him. Not in the way he was expecting but in a thank-you-very-much way.
“Yeah. Even more now that we’re together.” She touched his hand as Mr. Scheuster strode into his classroom. Santana shot her a look from the other end of the room, but she ignored it.
“Okay guys. We have a lot of work to do. Nationals are coming up and we have to pick leads, and more importantly, the songs we’re going to sing.” Everybody groaned with annoyance. They had already worked their butts off preparing for Regionals they didn’t want to work any harder. “Hey now. You all know they’re in New York. I was thinking we could take a day or two off and go sightseeing.” So much for the annoyed faces. Every one cheered and prepared themselves for a long day. Rachel raised her hand.
“Um Mr. Schue if I may comment?” He nodded to her. “I was thinking that for Nationals Finn and I should take the leads. After all, we’re the only decent people who make the New Directions sound good.” Again, everyone groaned at Rachel’s comment. Always eager for the spotlight. What’s new?
“Oh shut up Rachel” Mercedes belched. “Who cares? Personally, I think I should be getting the lead.” Sam looked at Mercedes and smiled. She glanced back at him and mock rolled her eyes.
“No guys. Rachel’s right. We’re the best shot at winning Nationals.” Finn butted in. “I mean, we kicked butt with Faithfully last year.” He shot a look at Quinn as he said this. She glanced back at him and scooted closer to Sam.
“But we didn’t win last year. You guys killed us literally.” Quinn commented. Sam chuckled and looked at Finn. He was pissed, that’s for sure. Mr. Schue could feel the tension and put a stop to it at once.
“Okay guys…” he started, eyeing Quinn, Sam, Finn, and Rachel. “Let’s start writing songs and see where that takes us.” Without a word, everyone nodded and grabbed a pad to start drafting. Quinn kept on sneaking glances at Finn who was eyeing her very carefully, suspicious now because of what Santana said. She tried to ignore him, but it was impossible. Nearly an hour after brainstorming her head hurt. She had only come up with a few lyrics, but it was still a start. “Already guys. Great job today.” He dismissed them minutes later.
“Quinn!” Finn yelled to her as she was nearing the school’s exit. So close! She turned abruptly to face him, her face red.
“What is it?” she asked bitterly.
“What’s going on with you and Sam? I know something’s up. What? Are you afraid to tell or something? Afraid that I’ll dump you?” She felt tears forming in her eyes.
“Nothing’s going on okay? He needs the help that’s all!” she almost yelled before storming out of the schoolyard.
“Quinn!” Stacey’s small, squeaky voice whined. “Can you help me?” Quinn was at Sam’s again, watching the kids while he was at football practice. Stacey was spread on the floor, trying to do her Math homework.
“Hang on Stace. Let me finish writing these lyrics.” She was scribbling down the last few words to her song for glee.

How can I go on?
I can’t run, or turn back?
I need to make things right…but how?
Too scared, too afraid to suffer
Suffer the consequences…
I can’t face it, not without courage.
Or love.
All I need is for him to love me.
Love me, love me, love me….
She smiles to herself, before stuffing the wrinkled paper in her binder, and cramming it in her already crowded shoulder bag. Stacey walked over seconds later with her Math work. Quinn noticed erased pencil marks from all her mistakes and torn edges of the paper. She reaches out for Stacey’s hand and pulls her close.
“Oh Stace!” she says. Quinn takes her pencil out of her hand and shows Stacey how to work out the problems. “So you then carry the one and add it to the other numbers in the tens place. So your answer is 24.” Quinn explains. Stacey nods her head, and works out the other problems with Quinn’s assistance. She nods her head. “Great Stace! You’re such a fast learner.” Stacey flashes her a smile and gives her a bear hug.”
“Thanks Quinn! I wish you were my sister. Living with two stinky brothers gets so annoying!” she complains right as Sam walks in.
“Ha thanks Stace!” he says sarcastically dropping his backpack on the floor and grabbing her by the waist. Stacey screams and tries to escape from his grasp. She sticks her tongue out at him, just as he sets her down on the bed. “You rascal!” She scrambles away from him, before he can do anything else to her. Quinn laughed just as she ran over to her, hiding behind her back.
“Stevie! I need backup!” Sam calls to his younger brother, who’s sitting in front of the TV. No surprise. He rushes over and stalks Stacey.
“Protect me Quinn.” she whimpers.
Stacey sees her brother coming and runs out from behind Quinn, with Stevie on her heels. They scream through the whole room before crashing on the floor out of breath. Sam lunges for Quinn and grabs her by the waist.
“Sam!” she yells. He pulls her to him and they both collapse on the bed. Quinn, now on top of him, swatted his arm in annoyance. He gave her a sheepish look, which she couldn’t help but adore.
“Hey now. No violence allowed.” he teased sitting up. Quinn shifted so she was sitting beside him and smoothed out her skirt. “Nice to see you” she says sarcastically rolling her eyes. Sam gave her a look before planting a kiss on her cheek.
“Hey” he replied, looking into her beautiful hazel eyes. She smiled up at him.
“How was practice?” she asked. She knew how much football meant to him, especially being QB.He took in a breath and pulled her close to his chest. She rested her head on his shoulder and waited.
“It went okay. Finn was being a total jerk though. Probably because of glee. He wouldn’t guard me, and kept on calling ridiculous plays, one almost resulting in a concussion.” She grimaced and kissed his cheek lightly.
“Aw I’m sorry. I haven’t had the time to break it to him, but by now I bet he knows.” Sam looked at her and stroked her hair.
“You’ll find the right time, and I’m always here for you.” That’s what she loved about him. He was so supportive and caring. “So what’ve you been up to?”
“Um I finished my song for glee. Well it’s not really a song, just a few lyrics.”
“Oh?” he raised an eyebrow, quickly shooting his siblings a look making sure they hadn’t started the room on fire.
“Yeah, I just scribbled them down as they came to me.” She gets up and grabs her shoulder bag, dropping it on the bed. She rummages around before locating her binder. She hands the wrinkled paper to Sam who studies it closely.
“Nice lyrics” he comments. She smiles.
“Thanks, yeah I bet you can guess what it’s about.” Before he can respond, Quinn’s phone vibrates. “Crap” she mutters to herself. She types in her 4-digit password into her iPhone and checks her texts.
Q-Hit the store with me and R? We’re going Prom shopping. Know u want 2 come… :D
Sam glanced over her shoulder at her phone and chuckled to himself.
“What?” she asked accusingly? “A girl can’t go shopping for Prom, which happens to be the most important dance of her high school years?” Sam rolls his eyes and hands the paper back to her.
“Man! What am I going to do with you? Is this how all girls prepare for Prom? Oh let’s go shopping and do our make-up two days before the dance…” he imitates in a high pitched voice.
“Oh shut up! What? So you guys don’t care at all? You just always show up looking really handsome and sexy in your tuxes and bring us corsages?” Sam was impressed with her comeback.
“Nice Fabray” he teased. She punched him in the shoulder before replying.
@ Sam’s. I’ll b at ur house in a few. Bye!
“Oh come on? You’re ditching me so you can go shopping?” he complained. She laughed at him before standing up.
“You’ll be fine without me.” She leans over and gives him a kiss before grabbing her purse.
“Bye Stace, by Stevie” she calls to them just as she heads out of the motel room. Stacey runs over and grabs her in a hug.
“Quinn, do you have to go?” she whines.
“Sorry Stace. We have to go shopping so we can look beautiful for a dance coming up.” Sam rolls his eyes once again and walks towards Stacey.
“Stace just let her go. We don’t want the most beautiful girl at McKinley to have last minute fashion disasters now do we?” She’s surprised at Sam’s words and gazes at him.
“Fine” she whispers. “See you soon” and she saunters off.
“Bye Sam. See you tomorrow.” He steps outside with her and grabs her hand before she can escape.
“Have fun. I don’t want my girl to look awful for Prom.” She sticks her tongue out at him.
“Whatever Evans” she murmurs before touching his cheek. He walks her to her car watching her as she disappears into the distance.
