King John was known for often being angry,

He also wasn’t know to be very brainy,

Because his nephew was murdered, and he was suspected,

So some British rebelled, but John’s armies were defeated,

John Softsword he was known as from then on,

With the pope he did not get along,

The pope excommunicated John Softsword,

Only christened people got Heaven as the reward,

Now all christening and marriages had to be pope approved,

Of John, the English people disapproved,

The pope was still untrusting of John, and he declared that,

If someone wanted to overthrow John, it wouldn’t be bad,

By 1214 the Baron’s of England rebelled and forced John to sign,

The Magna Carta, so the Kings rights declined,

Not long after, John became sick with dysentery,

He didn’t survive much longer, he soon passed away.
