A Unicorn Myth

Don’t worry about Hayley,” the girls all did say,

She’s off in the land of the fairies.

With rainbows and unicorns and pots of gold,

Her head is just totally airy.”

One night she came running along the path,

So excited her eyes almost gleamed;

She was babbling crazy, ranting a lot,

At least that was just how it seemed.

He’s there!” Hayley pointed, back down the road,

Back tothe way she just came,

She gestured, she pestered, and she cajoled

Even though we weren’t playing her game.

Then out from the mist came the sound of some hooves,

Striking tarmac as they approached,

Hayley just smiled but her friends all went pale,

As if they had just seen a ghost.

It wasn’t a horse that trotted along,

The horn on it’s head was so clear,

While Hayley was happy, and dancing around

Her friends, they all trembled in fear.

It walked up to Hayley and lowered it’s head,

On it’s nose she did plant a big kiss,

It turned on it’s heel and strolled slowly away

Exploding the belief of a myth.

So all of the scoffing, and the ridicule,

That day they were forever killed,

For the unicorn has touched all the girls lives

And forever that doubt has been stilled.
