Depression – A Thief

Bottled-up anger,

bottled-up fears,

mixed all together

with bottled-up tears.

Bottled-up secrets,

bottled-up grief,

lack of self-confidence,

depression’s a thief.

Bottled-up feelings,

that’s what we are taught

and into this spiral

we’re so easily caught;

hide the emotions,

bury them deep

and to yourself

make sure that you keep.

But bottles are limited,

have a finite space;

it does not take long

to fill up – a disgrace.

Too much inner pressure,

bleak with corrosion,

and that bottle breaks

with one violent explosion.
