Come on, follow me,

we’ll find our way

through the vines

through the leaves.

Look – a gap

that makes

a perfect gateway.

But pause with me,

don’t step straight through.

Look at the sand,

those golden grains

as yet still smooth

from the stroke of the sea.

It’s almost a shame

to leave our mark

but the ocean’s call

is one so strong

that our reluctance

is so soon overcome

and we take off our shoes

and run across sand

to stand

at the edge of

the ocean.
