You look at me with pleading eyes. “Please. Don’t blame me.”

I don’t know what you expect; after all were you not responsible? I find it impossible to either forgive or forget with this hunger gnawing away inside me.

It wasn’t such a big deal for you. Not quite such a big change to make.

I look at myself, no longer recognizing my reflection. This is not me, cannot be me. Denial is all well and good, but sooner or later I’m going to have to give in, be what you made me – a vegetarian with a taste for blood.
