I Doubt It.

They claim to understand

But don't have a clue

What living is like

For me and for you.

They sit there in comfort

They are driven in style

While we struggle on

For mile upon mile.

They can't be impartial

They look to their friends

To their greatest benefits

A means to an end.

Protecting the people

Don't make me laugh

They are leading us straight

Up the garden path.

How can those in power

Ever claim to care

When more and more wealth

They refuse to share.

But people aren't daft

They can see this is wrong

Perhaps something will change

Before too long

But I doubt it.
