Kindle A Flame

Strike a match,

a tiny spark,

capture it

in time;

we’ll let the

fire smoulder

but you will soon

be mine.

A tongue of flame

now flickers,

orange, yellow,

gold;

I’ll step in to

the fire

but no burning

does take hold.

The flames will spin,

the flames will twirl,

performing to

my will;

and only once

desire is spent

will the burning

still.

Combustible,

igniting,

we’ll have a

conflagration,

the only limit

to this fire

is of

imagination.

But too soon

the flames will die,

smoulder,

just leave ash;

and I will no longer be

with you,

simply vanish

in a flash.
