Running On Empty

Running on empty, trying to feel,

Attempting to work out quite what is real;

My head is so clogged up, it’s feeling so thick

I hoping I’m not getting ever so sick.

My mind is in turmoil, it’s stuck in a rut,

I need to kick start it to something else but

The worry is entrenched, doesn’t want to let go,

It is wearing me down and making me slow.

It’s always so futile, I can’t change a thing

With all of the failure that it does bring;

I wish I could switch off, that I wasn’t so wired

‘Cause then maybe I would not be so tired.

A state of exhaustion is bringing me down,

Making me act like some demented clown.

If only in dreams, my head I could keep

Maybe I wouldn’t be needing to weep.
